"A facile command of the pop idiom"..., "A strong sense of purpose and personality"..., "Mixes and mash-ups of styles that speak volumes"...

Biography

MERGING DANCE AND THE MAINSTEAM "Smalltown Boy", Evan Cowden attended Boston's BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC after being awarded a vocal performance Scholarship. There he studied his craft along side such vocal greats as Layla Hathaway and Grammy Award Winner Paula Cole. Strongly influenced by the post-modern/new-wave movements of the early 1980's, and inspired by such vocalists as Jimmy Somerville, Lisa Stansfield, Tracey Thorn (everything but the girl), Alison Moyet and Andrew Bell; Evan Cowden has succeeded in drawing from heavy synth pop arrangements like those of Vince Clarke and the Pet Shop Boys, blending them with contemporary house and R&B flavor, while always maintaining a strong commercial POP sensibility. Evan has created a style all his own... "Unique vocal electronica with a strong pop-crossover appeal". Now, Evan has teamed up with multi-platinum producer Geza X (The Dead Kennedys, Josie Cotton, BlackFlag, Tyler Hilton and Merideth Brookes smash hit single "Bitch") to create "10 days at Satellite Park"...a collection of original songs & dance covers that represent his life long journey back to mainstream commercial POP! Evan Cowden also lends his writing and production skills to several other dance artists... he is currently producing and remixing tracks for HI-NRG pioneer Ernest Kohl's upcoming 2007 wide angle/Sony Records release. Through his production company, BOBD Productions, Evan continues to seek out new talent and helps them produce quality music in the hopes that he can play a role in finding the next generation of recording artists and chart topping hits!

Clothes don't make people beautiful...
Money makes people beautiful!

chorus
Money makes the world go 'round, the world go 'round
Money makes the world go 'round, the world go 'round
Money makes the world go 'round, the world go 'round
Money makes the world go 'round, the world go 'round
Boy, she's a Label Whore
Boy, she's a Label Whore

verse
Gucci, Prada, Chanel, Dior
Watch out boy, she's a Label Whore
Got no cash? No need to fret it
The girl aint dumb
She'll use your credit...
(Be honest... do these jeans make my ass look HUGE?)
Tom Ford, Calvin Klein
You'de better work overtime
Seven jeans if you've got the means...

chorus
Money makes the world go 'round, the world go 'round
Money makes the world go 'round, the world go 'round
Money makes the world go 'round, the world go 'round
Money makes the world go 'round, the world go 'round
Boy, she's a Label Whore
Boy, she's a Label Whore

verse
Badgley Mischka , Vera Wang
That girl can't afford things...
Chloe, Minolo, Jimmy Choo
Watch out boy,
She'll come for you...

chorus
Money makes the world go 'round, the world go 'round
Money makes the world go 'round, the world go 'round
Money makes the world go 'round, the world go 'round
Money makes the world go 'round, the world go 'round
Boy, she's a Label Whore
Boy, she's a Label Whore

ALL.
By Evan Cowden

We had it all
We had it all

verse
We had it all
We were young and excited
We had love, we had friends
We all stood united
Packing the clubs
We'de dance until the morning
Night turned into day
And we were never being boring

bridge
We had love
But where are you now?
We had it ALL
But you got lost somehow

chorus
Love
is a miracle
Life
it's a miracle
Not just for some... but everyone!

spoken:
It all starts when we are small
knock another kid down to make you feel tall
just because little boys can't behave
three little letters sent him to his grave
F.A.G.

Last verse...
Same as the first...

We had it all
But you threw it all away...

THE LAST TIME

THE LAST TIME
By Evan Cowden
copyright 2006

verse
Empty chair at the table
A dining room built for two
Cool autumn wind swept in
And stole a friend to soon

No love unrequited
Pure love is never wrong
A mulitude of angels
Joined in his last song

chorus
And the Last Time
I saw him
Love filled his eyes
But the Last Time
I saw him
We didn't say goodbye

verse
You only see what you want to
You live life with blinders on
Why would it mean a thing to you
That he's dead
And that my world is gone?

You teach your children to hate us
Boy, do what the bibles say
In the name of Christ you pursicute
Try to strip all dignity away

chorus
And the Last Time
I saw him
Love filled his eyes
But the Last Time
I saw him
We didn't say goodbye
