Bio

Evangelina was born and raised in Newark, Delaware listening to classic rock and basically anything she could get into her head. When she was a kid, Evangelina obsessed over hard rock bands like Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, and Janis Joplin. As a teenager, she fell in love with punk music of the 70s, 80s, and 90s while maintaining an interest in all genres, even Greek folk and Latin music.

Music to this girl is a language and there is something every genre has to say. By the age of 17 she was leading a Newark based punk band called Redhanded. In it's short life the band went through several band members before finally calling it quits in 2001. After the band came to an end, she took time to spend with her family, raising her son. She returned to the music scene by jumping into a singing contest hosted by WMMR in 2008 where she made it to the finals. Since then she has participated in several singing contests including Orlando Florida's "American Idol Experience" where once again she made it to the finals and performed in front of the entire Hollywood Studios park.

In March 2013 she shared the stage with Boston based celtic punk band Dropkick Murphys, joining them for a duet (The Dirty Glass) on stage at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia.

Evangelina currently resides in the city of Wilmington, enjoying the budding local arts scene and playing for anyone who has an ear to listen.

Her original music is deeply inspired by the artists that she listens to when she's feeling most connected to the music. Whether she's singing soft and belting out a soulful tune, she pours herself into each song so that the listener knows and feels that same connection.

"Each performance should be an experience.. not just some chick singing on a stage... but a fun night where everyone's enjoying the music together. I want the listener to feel what I feel when I'm singing... and I want them to sing along!"
