"Jeff Hahne"

“They've got an edge to their rock style that adds a hint of country. At moments they reminded me of the Black Crowes, but the singer is closer to Seven Mary Three. Get that list out of 'who to watch' and add them to it."

Bio

Biography
EVELYNN ROSE is a booze-rock band founded in the heart of NoDa (Charlotte, North Carolina’s art district) in May of 2008. The group started when singer/songwriter Joseph William met Joshua Wade via MySpace.com. They began working together in order to produce an album that would successfully blend Williams’ Americana roots with Wades’ punk rock background. Things progressed rapidly, and the two found themselves recording shortly after in a rented studio space at NoDa Studios (owned and operated by Johnny Colt from the Black Crowes), hoping to release a self-recorded/produced album entitled The Misfortune of William Wade by January of 2009.

In August of 2008, they met Chris Black-a guitarist from Pennsylvania who had moved to NoDa a month earlier. He found immediate interest in the group and began attending every session at the studio. Within a week, he was officially pronounced the group’s guitarist. The three began working with a local drummer and started putting together a live set while continuing to record the album.

In September of 2008, Jimmy Jack moved to Charlotte from New York after hearing the group practice in August. He sat in on one session and immediately became a part of the band.

After a month of practice, the band changed its name to Evelynn Rose and began working with Rob Tavaglione of Catalyst Recording in an effort to produce a real EP. Two months later, Evelynn Rose played its first show in Charlotte, NC, to a group of 50 at a local venue called Prevue. The set went very well and they immediately received multiple bookings.
Recently, the band has completed a month long northeast tour as well as opening for acts such as: Cowboy Mouth, Arc Angels and The Little River Band. They have recently come back from a U.S.O. (A.F.E.) tour in November. There they played for the troops in 5 different countries throughout the Middle East.

The response so far has been incredible and the album has been released.

Currently, they are finishing up recording their first LP album and look to release it in April 2010.
