"Eversinceve- "Fire Finds Beauty In Ashes""

Eversinceve comes from the states and they have a really smart name. "Fire Finds Beauty In Ashes" is the band's debut album, released on their own. Currently they are working on their follow up, so they send us this one for review. Eversinceve plays this very catchy (and quite in fashion lately) mixture of metalcore.

"Fire Finds" is a fine display of an act with many ideas in mind and much more ways to express them through their music. All the elements of metalcore are here: heavy rhythms, low tuned guitars, vocals swapping from hardcore to death metal, melodic guitar lines, the whole nine yards. All these are blended nicely in an explosive package. The fact that four from the five members of the band has vocals duties in another display of diversity. Some songs stings in mind from point blank: "Tangled Web Of Misery", "Old Skin Dead" and "See Through Soul" while there are many fine moments in the rest of the songs.

This debut is indeed one of the best I have heard the last couple of years from the States. It has good production and packaging and above all it is a self financed job. Fans of metalcore must keep an eye on this band. - Temple Of Metal Webzine- Michael Dalakos

Bio

It began as a dream in the hearts of six young men who shared their love of music and the desire to share that music with others. In June of 2001, Eversinceve was formed and it is now a dream that has come true to light for the six band members.

It began with an unlikely series of events. With the band members scattered all over Florida...it seemed nearly impossible that this group would form. At that time the five men were out doing their own things. Don Wisby (guitar) was living on the west coast with his wife and persuing his career. Chris "Elbo" Alba (bass) was involved with his work and had a hectic schedule and the idea of a band just didn't seem to fit into his plans at that point in time. Kris Mortensen (drums) had recently bought a home and was beginning to settle down with his wife. Meanwhile, Al Torres (guitar) was forming his own band called Scars Of Life which is today at the forefront of the music scene, putting South Florida back into the spotlight. Shortly after Kris, Al, Elbo, and Don began writing music, Paul Varian, a close friend and already an accomplished singer, was asked to join the ranks and fill in the vocalist position. In December of 2003, Brian Stergiades another long-time friend and previous band member from years back joined and added a new dimension to the band by playing keyboards. This last edition added to the ever evolving sound of ESE.

When asked about where they get their inspiration for their music they stated "Our music is inspired by our own convictions and the injustices going on in the world today." Our music genre is a combination of death metal, doom metal, hardcore, metal-core, old school heavy metal, and a hint of black metal. These influences make up the inovative sound of ESE.

Since the band was formed, it has continued to grow and mature not only in songwriting, but in confidence as the stage shows have become increasingly energetic and lively. With 50 + shows so far, the band looks forward to outdoing itself each and every future show. The band has shared the stage with national acts such as: Dry Kill logic, Superjoint ritual, stereomud, nonpoint, darwins waiting room, twisted method, endo, hot action cop, and fingertight. The band has also played a number of shows with crowds of 400 + people… and always had very positive feedback from the crowd and/or fans. Eversinceve’s music is featured on many internet sites (audiostreet.net (ESE was a feature band of the month), garageband.com, purevolume.com, Myspace.com, Signhereonline.net, soundclick.com, Mylocalbands.com, Rateourband.com, iuma.com, and on mp3.com (ESE was in the top ten of their genre several times). Eversinceve has also been the feature band on VM Underground which included an interview, And is part of the Clear Channel Music Network. Eversinceve has performed at the following venues: The Culture Room, Kelsey Club, Spanky’s, Ray’s downtown Blues, The State Theater, Fuel, Will’s Pub, Pompano Skate Park, Surf Café, and Ovation. We are also sponsored by Whitey Wear clothing. ESE plans on continuing to expand its horizons with many more shows, radio stations, and internet music sites AND to continue to grow and become a powerful part of the metal scene. This is only the beginning.
