everyone's nobody

my name is justin sanders, and i'm a solo musician living in southern california.
in short, i'm just a simple guy who appreciates the little things and prefers to float through life without much more than a guitar, a surfboard, and a handful of close friends. i've never wanted to be the center of attention; nor have i been. i've never wanted to be the richest, the smartest, the funniest, the best looking, or the most popular; nor am i. i'm simply that guy who everyone knows of, but who no one truly knows...i'm everyone's nobody, and i'm happy with that.
inspired by musicians such as mason jennings, ben harper, and jack johnson, i first picked up a guitar back in 2006 and have been slowly teaching myself how to play, using what little free time i've had. soon after i began learning, i started writing songs, mainly to help cope with the stresses of everyday life. initially, i kept my songs to myself, but i was finally convinced to share them with others.
given the fact that i am a solo musician, my music tends to be as simple as my "recording studio" (i.e., my bedroom)...just an acoustic guitar, along with a little harmonica, percussion, and ukulele here and there. thanks to my brilliant friend, lisa petersen, i've also been able to incorporate violin and viola into some of my songs.
i occasionally play shows locally around southern california when opportunities arise. i've never played anywhere else, but i'm definitely not opposed to it either. so, if you would like me to play somewhere near you, just let me know and i'll try to make it happen.
