A&R Worldwide-January 15, 2005 KMRQ Modesto/Stockton is spinning an up-and-coming act (also an A&R Worldwide-affiliated artist) called Evil Engine #9. PD/MD Jack Paper says, “This band has such huge potential. I just bumped up their rotation. It's a band that I think could be worked at both Alternative and Active Rock. The song we're playing, “Thorn (Inside Of You)”, is already getting some reaction. "Evil Engine #9 from Louisville, KY recently recorded with producer/mixer Pete Thornton (Cold, Shinedown). The upcoming record’s first single, Thorn, was immediately added to Ft. Myers station WRQC, and quickly spread getting adds at KUPD, WTFX, KMRQ, and impressive specialty spins nationwide (including WYSP), now charting #57 on the Active Rock charts. Opened for Sevendust last weekend in their hometown, and in January, Evil Engine #9 will be included in Promo Only’s Rock Release (primarily national acts), as well as locking in radio dates, shows and more showcases. Evil Engine #9 was formed in 1999 in a small town in Southern, IN called Corydon (20 miles from Louisville, KY). Band built a large fan base in a small period of time, acquired serious management by 2003 and recorded a two song demo with Producer/Mixer Pete Thornton (Shinedown, Cold) in Orlando, FL. After recording this demo including songs “Thorn” and “Anxiety”, EE9’s song “Thorn” was put into full rotation at Radio Stations WRQC Ft. Myers, FL, WLRS and WTFX Louisville, KY, KUPD Phoenix, AZ and KMRQ Modesto, CA . In many of these markets “Thorn” was the #1 most requested song for weeks. Because of every day spins by these stations as well as “Specialty” spins on many more rock stations around the country EE9’s song Thorn was in the top 55 on Active Rock charts by spring of 2005. Currently EE9 is gearing up to shoot a music video for song “Thorn” with Director Dale Resteghini (Hatebreed, Mudvayne, Fall Out Boy) in NYC late January.
Evil Engine #9 has shared the stage with acts such as Trapped, Flaw, 10 Years, 311, Sum 41, Papa Roach, Smile Empty Soul (EE9 headlined in Louisville), Anthrax, Lit, Socialburn, Yellowcard, 30 Seconds To Mars, just to name a few. EE9 recently played at “LRS fest” in Louisville, KY in front of 10,000 people and The Orlando Music Festival.
