Evolution Trip

Aggressive, melodic, progressive, gut-wrenching hard rock. Born out of the fight to evolve and grow through life’s hardships, Evolution Trip takes audiences through the soul searching, angry and, at times, hopeful journey they have embarked on together to right the wrongs of the past.

There’s nothing like a life changing event to make you reevaluate your priorities. In late 2008, guitarist Adrian Sepulveda received a stunning diagnosis of MS that would become the catalyst for bringing the foursome together. Having played together here and there in various bands over the past decade, Adrian, Davey, Mike and Matt banded together with a renewed commitment to their craft, and Evolution Trip was born.

Heavily inspired by the bands that shaped their musical conscious, listeners will find references to The Deftones, Queens of the Stone Age, Muse, and Chevelle sprinkled throughout.

Having recorded twice at Wire Recording Studio in Austin, Texas, Evolution Trip released their first EP Scorpia Centifolia in 2010, and followed that up with their self-titled EP in 2011. All proceeds made in June and July of 2012 from the band’s second release will be donated to the National MS Society (http://www.nationalmssociety.org) to benefit MS research. Guitarist Adrian has also been an avid supporter/donator of Texas’ MS 150 Bike Race for the cure event.

Evolution Trip started attacking the Texas rock scene in late 2010, playing various clubs and music venues in Austin and Dallas such as Red Eyed Fly, Hotel Vegas, Dirty Dog Bar, Austin Java, South Austin Brewery, Reno’s Chop Shop, NightRocker Live, Liquid Lounge, and Curtain Club.
