Bio

Evren’s involvement in the music industry has been quite active since arriving on the scene in early 2000, after composing his first TV commercial for Bell Mobility. Originally a hip hop artist from Toronto, Canada, Evren has made a name not only as a recording artist, but as an established music producer and song writer, having his music featured in hit TV series, commercials, and numerous media campaigns.

In 2002 Evren won the International Songwriting Competitions People’s Voice Award for co-writing Degrassi: The Next Generation theme song, “Whatever it takes”. 1 year later his voice was featured in a PSA for the Canadian organization, Artists Against Racism.

Over the next few years he would license numerous songs from his 2002 debut album “Conflict of Interest” on a number of Degrassi episodes, spanning four seasons of the show. In 2003 he placed songs on 5 episodes of CTV’s “Instant Star”, as well as co-writing the theme song for the Food Networks Italian lifestyles cooking show, “David Rocco’s Dolce Vita”.

By 2005 Evren had already licensed his music to a number of newer shows, including “Winging It”, “The Best Years”, and “Billable Hours”. While building a healthy list of songs for television, by 2007 Evren would soon have his music featured on major national advertising campaigns, including 3 different TV and cinema spots for TELUS Mobility, internet ads for Rogers, as well as the widely popular theme song “Do I Go” featured on the 2009 Toyota Matrix ad campaign. He also placed a number of his songs in the 2008 film “Confessions of a Porn Addict”

In 2010 Evren was asked by Turkish superstar rock band maNga to write the lyrics for Turkey’s entry in the 2010 Eurovision song contest. Penning the lyrics to hit song “We Could be the Same”, the song became the competitions runner up placing number 2 out of 39 participating countries, with over 5.5 million youtube views, winning millions of votes from fans all over Europe. Later on that year he placed 4 songs in CTV’s hit series, “Being Erica” and SHOWCASE series “Lost Girl”. The following year he landed 2 songs on the NBC show “Combat Hospital”.

In May 2011, Evren was approached by producer Fred Mollin to remix Dan Hill’s hit song “Sometime’s when we touch” for world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao. The remix was featured on Manny’s CD/DVD released prior to his championship fight with Shane Mosley.

In 2011 Evren also composed the national theme song for the NPO Plan Canada for their media awareness campaign entitled “Because I Am A Girl”. The song, written and produced by Evren, was featured on radio, television and online spots, supporting Plan Canada’s program to help impoverished girls and women worldwide.

In 2012 Evren and Courteney Brookes penned the campaign song for Toronto’s Canary District, home to the 2015 Pan Am Games athletes village in the city’s largest urban development.
Later on, Evren was chosen to compose for the upcoming film “The Great Chameleon” starring, Victor Altomare, Robert Davi, Stacy Keach and Nick Mancuso. After writing and licensing music for countless high profile media, advertising and TV shows, this would be Evrens first feature film scoring credit.

As well as writing music, Evren has had a very successful career as a voice actor. Though a voice acting rookie, within the first year alone he has landed voice gigs on TV commercials for McDonalds, Kellogg’s, Nike, as well as being the continuous voice of Captain Morgan Rum.

Currently Evren writes with a number of up and coming artists, as well as continued involvement with various media campaigns, expanding his catalogue into independent and feature films. He has 4 personal albums in his discography as well as a vast number of credits on various projects worldwide.

“You’ll never get ‘em all to love you…if you can get 51%, you’ve done more than most would ever dream, and that’s good enough for me….”
