The Ethereal World Orchestra

This unique collaboration between the Avalonian Bard, David Christopher, and the Angelic Shaman of Sound, Pamela West, explores the acoustic orchestration missing in much of today’s modern music. Elements of traditional Irish and English folk arrangements blend with bits of psychedelic art rock, American Gospel, classical European and Gregorian-style choirs to produce an ethereal soundscape that will soothe the soul and transport the mind through time and space.

The Ethereal World Orchestra is founded on the principal that music is the most powerful healing and teaching tool in the Universe, essential to a happy, well-rounded existence. Music is capable of shaping the thoughts and emotions of millions of people simultaneously. Every living cell perceives it not just audibly, but within the essential building blocks of frequency and vibration in the living body; therefore, it must be transmitted with the utmost care and respect to create a positive impact on the life force of this planet. Music brings people together in love and celebration, and it consoles and uplifts us even in life’s darkest moments. Each performing member of the orchestra has been brought together by Divine intervention to create a timeless musical mosaic formed for the sole purpose to heal the planet in these chaotic times full of disease, disharmony, and great change. Every effort is made to reproduce and enhance the recordings and live performances so that the greatest resonance among listeners can be achieved.

Additionally, David and Pamela are gifted healers and visionaries who use music as a catalyst for personal transformation and shifts in planetary consciousness. Originally from Salzburg, Austria, David spent seven years studying the magical traditions of mystic Avalon in Glastonbury Tor, as well as chant, meditation, and energy pathway work. Pamela received her Reiki training from her home state of Ohio in the USA and is currently a Reiki Master III, working on empathic emotional release and physical pain management with cancer patients, disabled children, hospice and nursing home residents, and animals. Both David and Pamela are well versed in world religions, humanities, cultural history, philosophy, and metaphysics and they incorporate this wisdom into songs that transmute negative vibrations into positive thought forms through universal life experience.

This alchemy is delivered with lovely arrangements, four part harmonies, and exceptional musical proficiency among all performers. Brilliant Bouzouki work, Irish Tin Whistles, keyboard Bass and Guitar accompany David Christopher's rich classically trained baritone voice. Pamela’s 4.5 octave coloratura range soars and augments the music with counterpoint harmonies, adding traditional Silver, Indian Bansuri and American Indian flutes, Bassoon, Recorders and six and twelve string Guitar. Both are accomplished pianists and composers/arrangers, and play a vast array of percussion instruments and ethnic drums.

David studied classical piano and voice and began composing and playing music professionally in his late teens. He spent many years as the lead singer of a rock band, and then exploring the Irish/English folk traditions in a band called The Galien from in the late 1990’s, which toured the United Kingdom and Europe and performed in several major music festivals. He has been a composer for nearly twenty years, but currently works as an archeologist in Vienna, Austria with plans to come to the US in late 2004.

Pamela was a symphonic bassoonist in the US Army Bands, performing for Heads of State at the age of seventeen, before a shoulder injury ended her competitive classical career. She studied opera, piano, bassoon, theory and conducting at the University of Akron School of Music, and obtained a Bachelor of Science Education/Creative Writing degree from Ashland University in Ohio. She recorded her first pop rock studio demo in 1994, and released three independent albums on her label, Angelfly Records. Inc. Evolution (1997 – Progressive Rock) and Dweller on the Threshold (1999 – Psychedelic Pop Rock), still receive AOR radio play worldwide with increased interest. Her Worldbeat Children’s Album, Are You Ready, Get Set...Let’s Go! (2003), has been embraced by the United Nations and acclaimed as the Jonathan Livingston Seagull of “children’s” concept albums. Pamela has performed in orchestras, musical theater, and as a solo artist and in bands in venues throughout the Midwest, East Coast US, Caribbean, and England, to include major rock, jazz and blues festivals. She teaches young children therapeutic music as a language, in addition to developing her own early childhood and after-school music programs in her school of music and creative development.
