"Ewok Folk Sessions"

"The fleshed-out Ewok Folk Sessions reclaimed the stage over the summer, showcasing a quirky sound based on their influences and coming off with a somewhat skewed perspective, with acoustic flavourings and potential nods to Ween, Beck, and otherwise..."-Ric Taylor - View Magazine

"The Ambitious CD"

"The Ewok Folk Sessions do some really sweet and fuzzy acoustic based ditties that are just perfect for that campfire setting near a lake with the lights and the noise of the city far in the distance"-Dave Kuroc, Hot Tub records, Hamilton art guru - Hot Tub Records

"the-flog.com"

"Take your time to enjoy both sights and sounds from untitled.nu. Listen to the Ewok Folk Sessions recorded last December."-Fette, editor for NYArts magazine in LA - the-flog.com

Bio

The smelting of steel; the steaming stench of gravy and cheese curds; the grey slate sky; the northern grit of Angle Terre; the open expanse of the new world- a canopy of opportunity and expression. All things combined form the rugged majesty of Ewok Folk Sessions (EFS). Comprised of Dan and Marc Kiely, two brothers with a shared love of sci-fi love bunnies and folk ditties, and Matthew Lazenby, an up and coming musical mind from England, EFS are forging their path across the Canadian cultural landscape.
It all began in the steel capital of the universe, the blue collared hotbed known as Hamilton, Ontario. This is where the brothers realized their abilities for crafting instantly lovable folk songs and began taking their music to the streets. After several years of honing their craft, the two song-smiths packed up their belongings and headed to Montreal, where they discovered Matt busking on the corner of St. Laurent with a detuned, one-string fretless bass. They got to talking and found a shared love of pretty melodies and flatulence. Several weeks later the ewoks were already a force to be reckoned with. Three unique minds holding together a blurred vision of beauty. Their motto has been established: keep your ears to the ground and your wits about you, the ewoks are here to raise your libido and maintain your interest in living!
