Bio

Ewok Folk Sessions are a collaborative effort, generated between the extremes of growing up in Hamilton, Ontario and now living in Montreal, Quebec; by brothers, Marc and Dan Kiely. Their efforts encompass soft harmonious tones and diverse melodies mingling with introspective, simple lyrics. The two have been making music together for over 5 years, while in between, taking time to live, travel, educate and relocate. The brothers started their music in the heart of the Niagara escarpment, in their hometown of Dundas, Ontario; a small suburb of Hamilton. As youngsters in 2002, they recorded a 3-song demo with Dan Medakovic at Mount Fairview Studio, having a song featured with some of Hammertown’s finest musical talents on the Ambitious CD, compiled by Hamilton guru Dave Kuroc. This allowed them to gain some serious stage experiences with artists such as Wax Mannequin, Melissa McClelland, A Northern Chorus and Matthew Barber, among others. Further on, and between school years, Ewok Folk Sessions started recording at their home in Dundas, compiling 12 fresh tracks over the course of 5 days during the week that connected 2004 to 2005, using a trusty 4-track recorder. This music has been featured on Errol Richardson’s art magazine site www.untitled.nu ever since, and allowed EFS to gain exposure all over the globe. EFS promoted this endeavor for a solid year with the support of a larger number of fans and amazing Hamilton musicians. Since then, both Marc and Dan have relocated to la Belle Province, hoping to gain new insight and inspiration in the big city of Montreal. Well into an exciting new adventure, EFS have started recording new music and playing live, with the help of many friends. Newer material is available at www.myspace.com/ewokfolksessions.
The music will make you tap your feet, bop your head, sing in the rain, and think with your heart. “Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you….Ewok Folk Sessions.”
