"Letterman Straight Jacket (Original Mix) – Exceed [FREE DL]"

The great city of Austin, Texas is home to a number of talented individuals, one of which being the heavy-dubstep predator Brett Stovall, aka Exceed. This up and comer has performed along the likes of Rusko, Glitch Mob, Steve Aoki, and many other highly-acclaimed artists, so it’s easy to expect some high-caliber bass when you hear his music. His most recent release “Letterman Straight Jacket” takes a very poppy and Datsik-esque approach, taking the listener on a poppy yet swerve-filled trip through grimey bass frequencies. With extremely fine-tuned vocal work and glitched-out drum kicks, Exceed is cookin’ some serious heat in the bass kitchen, and you’d be doing yourself wrong by not listening to his new track AND the bonus track below it. Show the dude some love on his FB and SC and get down to some epic bass!

"Souls – Exceed [FREE DL]"

For those who don’t know, Brett Stovall aka Exceed is a name to remember. This Austin, Texas based dubstep dj/producer is climbing the EDM ladder at a phenomenal rate, and it is because of his productions and live performances that he is gaining so much notoriety. His latest release “Souls” is a dark and metal-laced dubstep tune that is filled with mosh-pit starting melodies and haunting samples, fit for any grime-loving dubhead. Now what makes this song extra awesome is Exceed‘s ability to combine the ruthlessness of a dubstep track with the hard-hitting elements of a metal song, which as a metal fan really caught my ear when I first heard the track. So for those in need of something a little more on the evil side, venture into this graveyard anthem and catch that free download!

P.S. Exceed will be performing in Denver, CO on December 11th at Cervantes’ Masterpiece! Event info is here! - The Dankles

"FEATURED ARTIST: EXCEED"

Exceed, aka Brett Stovall, is a DJ and Producer out of Austin, Texas. Having shared the stage with Tiesto, Rusko, Glitch Mob, Steve Aoki, Wolfgang Gartner and many other big names he is working his way to the top. Having seen him this past week and being blown away by his live performance I knew I had to hear more from this producer. Here is a little more about Exceed.

We were also able to ask a few questions to the Texas native about how he got into DJing as well as producing.

Read On for more.

-Who are your favorite artist, or the artist that inspire your work?

“Some of my favorite artist growing up was always the crowd pleasing DJ’s. I will never forget the frist time I saw Donald Glaude, His energy behind the decks was so captivating that when I saw that I knew that was what I wanted to do. More recently I’ve seen that same energy from Steve Aoki, Rusko and 12th Planet crowd surf. As far as music production I really have been influenced by so many different producers after listening to EDM for so long.. I’d say this year my influences would be Nero, Kill the Noise, Knife party the list goes on. “

-When and how did you begin producing?

“I got into producing after djing for about 6 or 7 years and wanted to take it to the next level. After about a year of messing around with Ableton I finally started writing tracks and my first original tune hit #14 on Beatport’s electro charts. Since then I got super busy with gigs and now been on the studio grind. So far I’ve released another EP on Synth City Records, A remix for Real Music Recordings and Peakhour Music, and free bootleg remixes available on my soundcloud. “

-Any big upcoming plans as far as collaborations or releases?

“Keep your ears open : ) This year I have a personal goal of releasing 40 tunes. I have a lot of collaborations with my buddy Shredd coming out including a massive drum and bass remix for Andain and a new remix for DJ Micro in the works as well!

-What producer or producers would you like to work with most?

“I would love to get in a studio right now with Rob Swire that dude is a genius.” - Fresh New Tracks
