"Hanging with Exeter"

Hey all just wanted to say that we had a great time hanging with Exeter Saturday night 04/05/08. We went out and saw the show and they did a great job. I loved the new music and thanks for the drinks. After the show Cameron Creamer the lead guitarist for Exeter came up with some drinks and sat down and talked with us, soon after the rest of the band came over and we all hung out for a while. We all talked about the Austin scene, the various bands here and what we have planned for AustinAmped. Thanks guys you all rock and definitely know how to "keep Austin Amped". If you like a good rock sound with an alternative edge I definitely recommend seeing Exeter it was good show.

exeter.™ is a space/alternative rock band with influences including but not limited to: Failure, Hum, Queens of the Stone Age, Shiner, Enemy, The Life and Times, Foo Fighters, Deftones, Year of the Rabbit, Sunny Day Real Estate, A Perfect Circle, and The Melvins. Their sound is a mix of ambient alternative rock with a heavy edge and dissonant melodies backed by pounding drum and bass lines. The band formed in June 2005 and began gigging in October of 2005 and has been well received in the Austin area, playing venues such as Emo’s Lounge, Redrum, Room 710, Headhunter’s, The Troubadour Saloon, Red 7, Red Eye Fly, Red Scoot Inn, Nuno’s Attic, The Velvet Spade, Plush, and Flamingo Cantina. They have also played several out of town venues, such as Andy’s (Denton), The Cavern (Dallas), Bond’s 007 (San Antonio), The White Rabbit (San Antonio), Average Joe’s (Laredo), and Frank’s Café (Hebbronville). They entered Test Tube Audio in December 2005 and recorded a 6-song EP/demo with Kevin Butler, and duplicated their EP through Discmakers, with the drummer providing all the artwork. They are continuously working on new material and entered the studio in December 2007 to begin working on their first full length album, which is set to be released in spring of 2008.
