EXIT 43 Appearing at FTC

Fairfield, CT - The first time Exit 43 performed together, the audience demanded three encores. Not bad for a band named after a non-existent exit on the Merritt Parkway. Their friends thought maybe they were on to something. Now, as EXIT 43 expands their horizons, after just releasing their first CD entitled “Home At Last,” this band of friends knows that this is fun … and more. They’ve come together with the slightly crazy idea that they also might just change the world—one song at a time, with their passionate original folk- rock melodies and harmonies reminiscent of Crosby Stills and Nash, they will keep you inspired and feeling really good.
On Friday, February 20TH at 7:30pm, EXIT 43 is making their “official” debut in Fairfield at the FTC (Fairfield Theatre Co, 80 Sanford Street, Fairfield, CT)
Tickets are $22.00 and $17.00 for concert. Advance ticket purchase is available by calling the box office or by going to the FTC website www.fairfieldtheatre.org. In addition, tickets can be purchased through the EXIT43 Website: www.exit43.net.
EXIT 43 members may be familiar names to many people: ANDY “A.J.” GUNDELL (vocals, guitar, harmonica, and banjo), songwriter, singer, composer and winner of more than 10 Emmy Awards and a resident of Wilton, CT; SCARLETT LEE MOORE (vocals and percussion), international blues performer, twice voted Fairfield County CT’s Best Blues Performer and resident of Newtown; SUZANNE M. SHERIDAN (vocals and guitar), songwriter (“90 Pound Suburban Housewife Driving in Her SUV”), singer, photographer, and workshop leader and a resident of Westport; and ED THOMPSON (keyboards) arranger, composer, conductor, and music educator and a resident of Norwalk.
“We are aware that we are now living in hard times that touch almost everyone in some way,” they say. “If our music can promote hope and inspire faith in the possibilities of a better tomorrow, then we believe we are doing our part to make the world a better place. We’re also on a mission to get people to come out, forget their troubles for the evening, and have a good time with us!”
Opening for Exit 43 will be Dan Tressler and Dan Carlucci, original founding members of The String Fingers Band. They have a wonderful lively bluegrass crossover sound.

WHO WE ARE
We got together on a November afternoon in 2004 to rehearse.
It was magical. And when you’ve been professional musicians for as long as each of us has, you learn to recognize the magic when it happens! You stand up and pay attention. We noticed how easy it was… how naturally and effortlessly our voices blended to make harmonies…how instinctively the arrangements evolved. Very simply – we had fun and, much to our surprise, we wanted to do more.
Why surprise? We are four different people. We come from differing cultures, musical backgrounds, and experiences; we have differing tastes, preferences, appearances and ways of expressing ourselves. So what keeps us together?
It is the love of music, but not just any music. We, like most people, want to live, work, and create with integrity. We long for a spirituality that is practical and can be realized in our daily lives.. We reflect this in our music. The Reverend Desmond Tutu actually recorded one of our songs - "Prayer" - in South Africa.
We hope our music adds at least 10 years to your life as it has to ours.
