5 lads. Patch-worked together by a mixture of random meetings in London pubs and the band audition equivalent of speed dating, Exit Hero are a tight unit of indie-rock'o'files on a mission to take an audience one trip beyond....
With country-spanning geographical decendencies, each of the members bring something unique to the flavour of the songs, drawn out of O'Sullivan's desire to get a crowd going. Connor and Chapman on the backline hold together a strong and eclectic rhythmic mix of modern rock and funk driven soul while the soaring melodies from the front pairing of Williams and Carol on guitar and keys, draw in even the least partisan of crowds creating a sound with geniune emotional breadth set against octane fuelled anthemic indie rock and roll.
The band's varied musical influences and styles (form Bowie to Mitchell and The Manics to Queen) produce an obsession of working every inch of every song to the bone. The result is a highly polished and emotionally charged set of festival ready tunes and a visually thrilling live performance.
Little is left out. And, like a goods train out of Shanghai, the set is full to the brim and unstoppable. In other words, an Exit Hero show is all about having it rather large, if you get what we mean…
