Exit Motel

Exit Motel

BandAlternativeAcoustic

Heard of Exit Motel? No? Well I guess they haven’t been on some half-rate, industry killing “talent” show, so you’re excused…

Biography

A band formed out of necessity… Exit Motel are Matt Clark and Rich Patmore, two guys doing what their head and heart tell them to do everyday. You can’t choose not to write songs like these guys do, there’s just something inside that needs to come out, to be given a form. And it is in their debut album ‘Flights Of Gravity’ that this form is finally realised.

‘…Flights Of Gravity is a classy piece from start to glorious finish…’
The Fly magazine

The sound? The delicately severe songs Exit Motel write indulge the rawness of The Police, Jane’s Addiction and Mars Volta and the vocal radiance of Simon and Garfunkel and Pink Floyd and create something new. Matt Clark and Rich Patmore craft songs, good songs… like in the seventies where it was all about the song and nothing else. They write for themselves, for the people who listen and await the next release, and for anyone who still has faith in music.

Exit Motel aren’t trying to take on the world, but embrace an obsession, that will see their world become a whole lot bigger. The duo’s first download single release, ‘Hospital Man’, has already gathered the ears of those in the know at both radio and press in the UK. And they have no intention of stopping there.

Just two minutes listening to something that has taken months to create, an album that will stand the test of time...

EXIT MOTEL’S DEBUT ALBUM ‘FLIGHTS OF GRAVITY’ IS AVAILABLE ON WORLDWIDE DOWNLOAD FROM ITUNES AND FOR PURCHASE IN THE UK FROM WWW.AMAZON.CO.UK

Lyrics

Hospital Man

Written By: Clark, Patmore

Is it his words that confuse you or is it the pain?
Another floor, another corridor but no-one’s the same
They say that he’s not so wasted just wasting away
Just a scratch for the meantime he’ll say you’re OK

Hospital Man where are you?
Hospital Man, nowhere

They say his state of insignificance is delicate taste
From satelittes height it’s air tight before he explains
Procrastination will save you if it’s too late
He dries his hands, says he’ll fix you if kujo refrains

Hospital Man where are you?
Hospital Man, nowhere

Nobody’s waiting over where you wanna go
Arms, legs, shave my head for play time

Life of Free Fall

Written By: Clark, Patmore, Ford, Gayle

I’m still waiting to get on board
These self-created sliding floors
So they win, but mindseye blinks for thought

I’m lost chasing all through my thoughts
No time to savour the shy ignored
So we win, but others steep to fall

Signs of reaching more stars than most
Hopes of feeling ever distant posts
So you win, but I will take you down, down

Don’t know where time goes in a life of free fall
Don’t know where time goes in a life of free fall
Don’t know where time goes in a life of free fall

The threads worn waiting to be clothed
Downside dreaming of you exposed
So I win you’ll never reach me now

I’m still waiting to get on board
These self-created sliding floors
So you, but I will take you down
Don’t know where time goes in a life of free fall
Don’t know where time goes in a life of free fall
Don’t know where time goes in a life of free fall

You got time, you got time….
For me, for me….

You got time to show me what you want from me
In time the words will come
Show me what you see
I don’t say that nothing is real
Time to take you back to what I want to be

Time to call it my own
Time to call it my own
I’ll show you what it means to be free
You’ve got time
You’ve got time…

Size of a Million

Written By: Clark, Patmore

Men in their robes
Leading the drones
How they all
Love to follow

Standing their ground
With heads held down
Let’s pretend
We’ll make tomorrow

Missing the smoke
Losing all hope
We should know god
Should we know sorrow?

Through my soul
Believing it all
I wanna become whatever you’ve done

Long way to float
State those you’ve hurt
In just one word
All is forgiven

Will the size of a million save them
And their holy badge of belief
Could a martyr be forgotten?
While a sinner’s kingdom breathes

If I die before I wake pray the lord my soul to take
Will I burn or float to grace in a pea-green boat through golden gates

If I die before I wake pray the lord my soul to take
Will I burn or float to grace in a pea-green boat from outer-space
If I die before I wake pray the lord my soul to break
Will I burn or float to grace pray the lord to hold the gates

Preach all your words
Where they’re not heard
One more to save
Waste all your days

Will the size of a million save them
And their holy badge of belief
Could a martyr be forgotten?
While a sinner’s

Men in their robes
Leading the drones
How they all
Love to follow

Standing their ground
With heads held down
Let’s pretend
We’ll make tomorrow

Missing the smoke
Losing all hope
We should know god
Should we know sorrow?
