"A GREAT OPENING SET AT SABOTAGE"

Introducing a range of new songs into their set, you can tell that Rich and Matt practice what they preach when it comes to their music.

It’s the first time I’ve seen them live since I interviewed them and they really have made a major effort with their writing and performance. Playing a tight set with some energetic, driven acoustic music, they put all their efforts into it, and it totally paid off.

You could feel the energy and emotion they put into their harmonised vocals, and introducing a rock guitar sound into the underlying music pushed their already high standards beyond its usual level.

Despite a major equipment failure during one of their songs, which I may add they dealt with professionally and without skipping a single note, Rich and Matt played confidently and the introduction of drummer Bud into a couple of the tracks added a richness to their already unique sound.

Kudos to Exit Motel for a great opening set at Sabotage. - www.mk-music.net

Bio

A band formed out of necessity… Exit Motel are Matt Clark and Rich Patmore, two guys doing what their head and heart tell them to do everyday. You can’t choose not to write songs like these guys do, there’s just something inside that needs to come out, to be given a form. And it is in their debut album ‘Flights Of Gravity’ that this form is finally realised.

‘…Flights Of Gravity is a classy piece from start to glorious finish…’
The Fly magazine

The sound? The delicately severe songs Exit Motel write indulge the rawness of The Police, Jane’s Addiction and Mars Volta and the vocal radiance of Simon and Garfunkel and Pink Floyd and create something new. Matt Clark and Rich Patmore craft songs, good songs… like in the seventies where it was all about the song and nothing else. They write for themselves, for the people who listen and await the next release, and for anyone who still has faith in music.

Exit Motel aren’t trying to take on the world, but embrace an obsession, that will see their world become a whole lot bigger. The duo’s first download single release, ‘Hospital Man’, has already gathered the ears of those in the know at both radio and press in the UK. And they have no intention of stopping there.

Just two minutes listening to something that has taken months to create, an album that will stand the test of time...
