"Works Perfectly"

Exitproject's songwriting is very interesting. Grounded in folk rock roots, they also incorporate elements from electronica and pop, a blend which works perfectly with Emi's natural vocal ability." - Whisperin' and Hollerin'

"Electronically Epic and Wonderfully Folksy"

Kicking off the night are the electronically epic and wonderfully folksy Exit Project. Vocalist Emi Jarvi says a warm hello to the audience and the set starts to pick up. She keeps up these chatty, down to earth addresses to the audience throughout, even finding time for a crochet owl giveaway!?

It’s not that often you see a cello on the stage at the Fleece [Bristol], yet its low hum adds depth to their sound. Combined with sporadic keyboard tinkling and soft melodies picked from the acoustic guitar the music has a transcendent, other worldly feel, and Jarvi’s soaring vocals top it all off magnificently. It’s clear that the band are having a great time. - Live-Music-Scene.co.uk

Bio

Exitproject is an folk/electronic band based in Bristol, England. Their sound features organic instrumentation laced with polite glitches. Emi Jarvi’s honest, laid-bare vocals and J Carmichael’s Acoustic guitar are matched with electronic drum samples, synths, twinkles and the occasional kitchen appliance.

Chicago-raised Emi Jarvi and Englishman J Carmichael formed Exitproject in 2007 and immediately began to generate interest. Their original music was chosen by Life Fitness, one of the largest suppliers of fitness equipment in the world, to launch one of their new lines of fitness equipment. Exitproject were flown to Las Vegas to perform to a sold-out crowd in the legendary Ghost Bar on the top floor of the Palms Hotel. Shortly after their Vegas headline, Emi was asked to provide vocals for Grammy-nominated DJ, Paul Van Dyk’s label, Vandit. Among all the excitement and activity, Exitproject found time for a mini-tour of the northern-central USA. Venues included Uncommon Ground, where Jeff Buckley was famously discovered.
