Bio
Formed October 2010, Exotica are a power-trio from London (consisting of guitarist/singer Anouska, bassist Bill and drummer Nenad) who play a distinctive and unusual brand of new wave, alternative rock and have been receiving rave reviews around the London gig circuit during the band's short life-span.
Broccoli Music described Exotica as 'one of the best new bands in London', Lee Puddefoot of Artrocker calls them 'energetic, spunky female-fronted new wave punk - one to bounce to', I Hate The Parents pronounced them 'band of the week' and Danny Mailer calls them 'an effortless blend of schoolgirl cool meeting Ian Curtis and Brian Molko in words, loud, hard, and played to perfection'.
Exotica recently recorded their first single 'All Your Goodbyes/Parasite Chic' with producer Paul Tipler (Elastica, Idlewild, Forward Russia, Placebo).
It is scheduled for release in May 2011 on Camden indie label Tuff Scout, with radio, press promotion to precede the release.
Singer/songwriter Anouska is a favourite of Xfm Xposure's John Kennedy and BBC 6's Nemone amongst others, who championed her previous band, teen riot grrl rockers Rubella, and her solo work which was released on EMI Undo Records in Greece, the Balkans and the EU.
