"Texas Exposure (#15)"

#15- Finishing off for Texas we found an oddity. Extension Chords is a new group on the scene in Texas and we just so happened across them in the little town of Denton during our Texas exposure search. They are unique in every since of the word. The stage was covered with musicians and video screens. Multiple drum set ups and odd music stations placed about. They had more cables than I have ever seen on one stage and barley had any room to move. Once the lights went out the fun began. Light up drum sticks began the thundering beat. The crowd seemed quite surprised, as was I, to hear this kind of sound from a mid-size bar band. They produce what sounds like intricate dance music as they used the audience for ideas on what to play. They kept the room bouncing for a good 90 minutes. It was a great show and I recommend seeing it if you are into the way out of the ordinary. We were given the "Spanish for the Masses" and "Em See Tree Oh Tree" albums and both try to show what they can do live. Nothing could compare to seeing this in action. The Chords records and CDs are all limited press and produced by the Texas music collective called "First Chair". We were told that from time to time they sell extras online, but mostly you have to get them in person at a show. Trust us on this one; you will see more of these guys. Check them out at:www.reverbnation.com/extensionchords - XLR8R (Sept 2007)

Spanish for the Masses, Fluke, High Voltage, Bwip, Tweak team unite.
We have tracks that play on XM radio CHill.

Extension Chords is a band born in the mind of Mike Powell as an imporv outlet for experimental music. All the guys in the band had always enjoyed Break beat music like Meat Beat Manifesto and Bassnectar but also listened to endless hours of Tool and King Crimson. Smash these things together and you get the chords concept. The albums Extension Chords has made show the work they can do when boundaries are in place. These boundaries are removed in a live setting when they can work off of the crowd and allow the Chords to shine.
