Extra Rich in Class featuring Eric Harris
BIOGRAPHY
Eric is one of today's most versatile new talents in R&B. Eric's dedication and
commitment to his vocal craft are as equally dynamic as his voice. Eric's many active
projects, which includes Extra Rich In Class (E.R.I.C.), reflect his wide range of
influences ranging from Stevie Wonder to Luther Vandross. Eric is well on his way to
a fruitful career in music.
Eric at various times has opened up for some of the top names in R& B and soul,
including Aretha Franklin, The Pointer Sisters, Pieces of a Dream, Rene and
Angela, Mtume, Sybil, The Force MDs, and The Fugees.
Eric's love of music stems back to his childhood days, singing in church choirs. A
native New Yorker, Eric's decision to pursue a musical career came after he attended a
Teddy Pendegrass concert in 1979. Eric started singing with various cover bands at
local events in and around New York City. Soon the group 3.4, who performed
regularly at Lola's, chose Eric to be their frontman. Eric began to garner a reputation
as an extraordinary vocalist with 3.4, and offers from other musicians began to
increase.
Eric left 3.4 to join The Stingers. The band, which primarily performs a Motown revue
show, began to regularly perform at private group functions, weddings, special events,
and charities. This has enabled Eric to earn a respectable living doing what he loves
the best, singing. Although Eric's side projects and heavy performance schedule
keeps him busy, he still sings regularly with them.Eric quickly became the standout of The Stingers revue show. He was encouraged to form his own group, Extra Rich In Class. Extra Rich In Class, or E.R.I.C. has become a favorite at Manhattan nightspots, where E.R.I.C. performs two to three times a week. Mixing a heavy dose of R&B originals with familiar covers, Eric
began to see the reality of his dream of becoming a successful recording artist. Eric’s forthcoming cd Drama has produced two singles “Life’s A Mess” a tale of consequence for men and “Queen” a tribute to women who are caught up in the love game.At the heart of Eric's talent is his love of live performing. "My greatest thrill is being on stage, before a live audience," he notes. "It's the best thing about making music. I'm thankful to be able to perform almost every night of the year. It's like a gift, to be able to express myself in song and dance." It's this genuine emotion that keeps Eric on the go, singing, performing, writing, and recording.
Enjoy a taste of this extra rich talent and you will agree... Eric is first class all the way!!
