Bio

Fabiana Cozza (38), born in So Paulo, has a solid 17-year career. In 2012 was elected The Best Samba Singer by Brazilian Music Award. Considered by critics and audiences one of the most important interpreters of contemporary Brazilian music, she has also worked in theater, dance and music. She performed in musicals with Brazilian theme at the beginning of her artistic life, enhancing her scenic expression and interpretation, qualities that catch the eye of any viewer. In her curriculum, she has the experience of singing along with respected names such as Elza Soares, Ivan Lins, Gilson Peranzzetta, Nailor Proveta, Leny Andrade, Joo Bosco, Zimbo Trio, Francis Hime, Leci Brando, Dona Ivone Lara, Luiz Melodia and Jazz Symphonic Orchestra, among others. Abroad, she has been invited by major figures of the international jazz to collaborate in shows and recordings. Among them the saxophonist Sadao Watanabe (Japan), hr-Big Band from Frankfurt, the basque composer and producer Kepa Junkera, the Cuban trumpeter Julio Padron and others.

Fabiana Cozza has released four CDs and two DVDs. In 2004, she made her debut with O Samba Meu Dom, and the title track is a song by Wilson das Neves and Paulo Csar Pinheiro. In 2007 she released Quando o Cu Clarear, the title track of a song by Roque Ferreira. And in the following year, she made a DVD of this work with the collaboration of singer Maria Rita and rapper Rappin Hood. The DVD is released in partnership with TV Cultura and presents a documentary telling the history of the artist, her relationship with music, her influences and people who work with her. In 2011 Cozza released Fabiana Cozza the third album produced by Paulo 7 Cordas. With this work she was nominated as The Best Samba Singer by Brazilian Music Award 2012. In December 2013, she released the CD/DVD Holly Chant - a homage to Clara Nunes(*).

(*) Clara Nunes is one of the most important Brazilian Singer from the last 40 years. She died in 1983.
