Jamil “Face” Johnson’s Biography

Jamil "Face" Johnson may be unknown to many but not for long. With his debut album "The Mona Lisa Project," Face is set to take music by storm. Born in Washington, DC, Face began rapping and producing at the age of 13 and formed the rap duo Relentless with friend Samuel "Redd" Keys. The two got their first break when they were signed to Fresh Gruv Records in Washington, DC.

Under the label the two went to work recorded their EP "Relentless" featuring the single "Relentless Life". Unfortunately the label folded and the EP was never released. Never one to give up, Face went back to producing and pursued a career as a recording engineer at MC Sounds Recording Studio in Maryland. He continued to hone his production and rapping skills by producing and appearing on tracks for clients.

Later he continued his engineering career at Night Flight Recording Studio in Fort Washington, MD under the direction of Kevin Jackson and Scotty Beats. After the passing of Scotty Beats, Face realized his lifelong dream and went on to build his own studio with his brother, Phase Recording and Media where he recorded and mixed The Mona Lisa Project. The Mona Lisa Project is as refreshing as a cool breeze on a hot summer day. In a world of gimmicky rappers, this album establishes Face as a true MC. Taking the helm as producer as well, The Mona Lisa Project features some of the hottest production and live instrumentation.

Face also went on to form Hipnotic Music Productions, LLC with partner Ramón Jackson, and began working with local and upcoming artists as well as some seasoned veterans to the entertainment world, including Raheem DeVaughn, T-Pain, Chucky Thompson, Bun B, Chuck Brown, Wale, Tabi Bonney, Lil Boosie, Mya, David Banner, Lil Mo, and more.

Jamil is proud of his accomplishments and the success thus far, bringing me to know he will represent the recording industry diligently. Music has been a passion of Jamil's life, producing and writing. He is destined for success in the music industry and proud to share his passion of music with you.

Jamil has produced a new track featuring Raheem Devaughn and T-Pain called "Club Hop" that leaked all over the South and into DC. The success of the track is represented all over the Internet.
