James Allen Hammond professionally known as Face Money was born in Augusta Georgia, on June 29, 1981. At the age of eight he moved to Philadelphia, PA. Philadelphia is where he began his passion for music. Face realized he had a gift to express himself through words like the late Biggie Smalls, 2 Pac, and Big L. Face began to hone his craft by listening to the works and creativity of artists like Wu-tang Clan, Slick Rick, Cool G. Rap, Jay Z, and Three Times Dope. Face then mastered a sound and style of his own.

By 2004 Face Money had become a member of the critically acclaimed rap group “Ice City” The Group consist of Face Money, Philadelphia Freeway, Hydro and Bars. The Group created a local buzz that landed them a one-album deal on an independent label called Sure Shot Records The group put out the Album titled: Welcome to the Hood” which was Distributed nationally. In 2003 Face Money accompanied Freeway on world wide Def Jam Vendetta Tour. This gave Face the opportunity to share the stage with artist such as Joe Budden, Keith Murray, Wu Tang Clan, Capone –N- Norega (CNN), Cadillac Tah, and many more.

After touring Face Money’s reputation began to grow. He was then featured on various mixed tapes with some of the most popular Dj’s like Kool Kid, DJ Envey, and Kay Slay to name a few. The more he did the more his popularity grew, he went on to be featured on the Call me Remix with the southern Hummingbird “Tweet”, he also appeared in a numbers of music videos such as Rockafella’s flipside, Roc the Mic, and Ice City’s own “Lock It Down”

Face continues his journey to success by making moves, as he stays persistent with performances by opening for artist such as Lil Kim, Nelly and Ludacris. He promotes himself by hosting at parties throughout the tri-state on a regular basis. Currently working on his solo album Face has a dream of joining the ranks of the legends. His style and image does not label him a typical Philly rapper, his mellow calm delivery and his look differentiates him from his fellow Philadelphian Rap Artist. With his word play and poetic flow his album is sure to be number one on the charts, its now time for Face Money to become a household name.
