Bio
In 2004 Zain Salim, Julian Gill and Mothi Burman met at an arts project promoting music, dance and drama in Toxteth, Liverpool. Once they started to sing together, they realized that the energy they developed was worth pursuing and decided to form a band – Fade2.
Many gigs at local events followed, allowing the group to hone their performance and songwriting skills. From an early stage it was clear that the band would follow a very original path by fusing the influences from their individual cultural upbringings. The result is a unique blend of RnB, Hiphop, Dancehall and Bhangra, delivered with the style and confidence of seasoned professionals.
The band have continued their development by playing at major outdoor festivals in Liverpool and North Wales, including a performance at the 2005 BBC Children in Need concert in Wrexham. This gig was a televised event with an attendance of 6000 people. Also on the bill were Texas, Sugababes, Madness and Goldie Looking Chain
The band signed a management contract in July 2005 and has used the last six months to consolidate its repertoire in readiness for publishing. At present, the band has written approximately twenty original songs.
Due to the hectic performance schedule during the past twelve months the band have built a huge local following in the Liverpool area and have now started to expand this interest with gigs scheduled throughout the UK. The band has developed a large online network through an active marketing campaign that included dedicated web and Myspace sites (see www.fade2.net and www.myspace.com/fade2).
