Feeling a bit camera shy

Faelsafe is a heavy metal rock quintet made up of two brothers and 3 other long time friends. Brian Evans , David Evans, Mike Nelms, Mark Davis, and Rich McGrail. The chemistry they have developed is a product of maturing and growing together while learning their instruments and developing their talents. The music of Faelsafe is hard rock, power metal ballads, progressive metal with a nu metal slant. The 5 members all grew up in middle class families living in Sparks, NV (Reno). Three brothers Evans, Brian, David, & Jason, the oldest, who is not in the band , but has contributed lyrically, grew up enjoying fantasy video games, books and movies.
This is reflected in the poetic and philosophical lyrics written by Brian Evans the eldest of the group at 25 years of age. Brian sings with an enormous clarity of voice, belting out his lyrics and song with the presence of a nobleman of old addressing his court. The instrumental make up of the group has created music that runs the gamut of haunting, as in Shadows, mysterious, as in 19 (I am Forever), troubled as in Grudge, powerful to the point of feeling like a marching dirge, as in Reborn and yet uplifting, Given the Chance & Wings of a Prayer.
Mark Davis on lead guitar, adds a feel to the music with a very bold statement by stepping out of the norm in rock. Offering up a variety of styles, like the very Middle Eastern feel of the Shadows riff or a Spanish Flamenco feel as in his lead in, My Apology. While Mark continues to improve on his shredding evident in, Still here, he maintains discipline in his melody and structure.
Mike Nelms has shown extreme versatility in song writing by adding his heavy rock attitude in My Apology through the rhythm section as well as having contributed the melodic structure to the heavy metal ballad, On The Inside. Mike has shown the band that he is capable of being a multi layered contributor.
Rich McGrail on bass is the bands ground, as the bass player should be. Even when there is friction between members Rich manages to stay steady and neutral, always thinking of what is best for the music and the band. Rich adds his own flare in My Apology by not just following the guitars or drum beat but leading off on a rhthym which becomes the basis of the tune. He is also one of the more energetic bass players you will see on stage.
David Evans on drums takes the tune, 19-I am Forever, and at the bridge builds the crescendo with his drum kit to a peak frenzy which launches Mark off on a screamin solo. The string section draws off David’s unique sense of tension and release, building and letting go and in the very tiny parts, adding cymbal flavors and drum taps with emotional response. David has always had a hard time letting go of rolls and this has produced his ability to perform monster rolls and huge live finishes at the drum kit which brings him, as well as the crowd, off their seats.
Faelsafe is a committed group and is only at the beginning of their career. They plan on making this their career.
