Bio

On rare occasions, a band's name can speak volumes about its members and make a deep transcendent statement. Melbourne acoustic rockers, Fahrenheit 43, are one such band. Recently performing a show-stopping 5 set acoustic showcase at L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival, Rich (vox/guitar) and Gemma (guitar), have the music scene abuzz with talk of their heartfelt songs and impressive live show. Now, joined by drummer Alwin 'Elmo' Laysico and bassist Alfy Lagos, the band will perform for the first time with a full line up, their new smash 'The Reason'. As a followup to fan favourite, 'Angel's Lullaby', Fahrenheit 43's new single & world anthem is set to become a commercial smash for this Melbourne duo. An exclusive acoustic version of 'The Reason' will be included on the bands debut EP. Also included is 25 Down, a song lead singer Richard James wrote about the trappings of a quarter life crisis. With their upcoming show at The Curtin Bandroom expected to sell out, this talented band is definately one to watch this year.

Lead singer Richard James began his music career at 15, playing drums for Christian rock band Intervention, members of which have gone on to Planetshakers fame. In 2000, Richard was seduced from the drums by a Cort acoustic guitar given to him by his older brother, and shortly after began to write and perform his own music. And so the story goes...

The journey for Fahrenheit 43 began more than two years ago when the pair met by chance through a mutual friend. They take musical influence from various genres, including the likes of Coldplay, Goo Goo Dolls, John Mayer and Relient K, ultimately describing their style as “Acoustic Indie College Pop-Rock”. A mouthful to pronounce, Fahrenheit 43 prefer to let their music speak for itself. The band will launch their debut EP entitled, 'The 6 Degrees EP', at The Curtin Bandroom on October 22nd before heading into the studio to record their debut, self-titled album.
