"Faith D, UK's Urban Christian Rapper, releases his first smashing single "Hands in the air", featuring Jason Nicholson-Porter. Released August 2010 through Awake Records."

Faith D, UK's newest Christian artist releases his first new single "Hands in the air" through Awake Records. Could he be the next artist to top the UK charts? Peace, love, joy & Salvation is what he brings in his message, centered around his Christian beliefs.

At just 19 years old Faith D aka David Kiaku is about to be recognized as a potential artist, who shows passion & zeal in his music. You have the likes of Chipmunck, Tinchy Stryder & N-dubz who have set their mark in the UK, but can Christian rapper Faith D do the same but bring something different to the public? Keep you eyes opened, and your ears in tune because, Faith D could be in a town near you. - Awake Records

"1 Way 1Truth 1God EP"

Faith D is an 18 year-old MC from Croydon passionate about reaching unbelievers and believers with his faith in Jesus. This mini-album kicks off with "Hands In The Air" - a pulsating bassline grime track. We then "bust the Jesus skank" in "J Dance" - a more party and dancehall bassline track. Showcasing his dexterity, Faith D moves into "He Loves You" with a fast breakbeat and grime flow where he declares, "Sent to earth to die for our sin, a love and affection beyond understanding." This is a bouncy party track that will hype up any venue with its refrain, "He loves me now, oy, oy!!" Continuing with the almost electro-grime tracks, "I Can" sees Faith D with pulsating lyricism and a staccato flow, contrasting nicely with the smooth and soulful hook. An encouragement of what Jesus did on the cross, to be better people with God's help, putting down the guns. We have the often-used downtempo track with an encouragement that no matter what you're going through, the Father will hear ("Hear Me Cry"). Faith D ends by letting the world know that, "It's never too late to get saved. So let's pray.." - Steve Hayes- Cross Rhythms

Bio

Born and raised in Selhurst, South London, David Kiaku AKA Faith D, has been rapping since the age of 13 years old. Being influenced by school friends he began to be involved in gangs & music. His lyrics contained negativity which gave him the impression that if he did this, he would be respected by his friends.

David was teased in school a lot because of his effort to join the gang but his passion for music was arising. His friends would always tell him “You’re rubbish and your content is poor” and some would say, “You’re good” just to encourage and motivate him. However he never gave up his passion to make it to the mainstream, so he decided to find a studio and start his solo career. He recorded a track with Master G called “It aint enough” sampled by producer Solemn (Spida Productions).

In 2005 an incident occurred where it involved David nearly being stabbed for his phone by gang members. After 6months of fear due to court cases and a constant reminder of a threat that was told at knife point, David’s perception about life changed him so he decided to take church serious. The more he attended, the more he realized that if he doesn’t fix up, he may lose his life. In July 2006 David became a committed Christian and has been ever since.

There has been a major transformation in the way he carries himself, and in the way he lives. This change has led him to leave the gang life and to live a life that is right. He had left the friends that had influenced him to do bad things, and David’s music was taken to a new direction and from then doors have been opening. That is when the stage name Faith D came into the scene because of his beliefs.

In 2007-2008 things started to kick off and Faith D went on to perform at the prestigious Fairfield halls in front of 200 plus people and he has also performed at different church and various other community events. The fire he brings on stage is amazing and you can really see his passion. He has also shared the same stage with UK’s well known Gospel artists Guvna B, Simply Andy, Inkrease, JayEss, Ejiro and many more. To better his career Faith D took on advice from 2007 MOBO Award Winner Jahaziel.
