Bio
Faith in Shadows is the brainchild of Jessie Wooten. Jessie is the next generation of an already talented family. His father, Joseph "Hands of Soul" Wooten is an accomplished songwriter, keyboardist and vocalist, who along with his solo career plays for the Steve Miller Band and his globally recognized bassist brother Victor Wooten. Jessie's uncles Victor and Roy "Futureman" Wooten make up half of the grammy award winning Bela Fleck and the Flecktones.
Faith In Shadows consists of Jessie on drums and vocals, Rainu Ittycheriah on lead vocals and guitar, Jared Lawson on vocals and bass, and James DaSilva playing blazing lead guitar. Jared began playing music on piano but moved over to bass, he and Jessie met in school and quickly forged a friendship. When Jessie decided he wanted to start playing his original music, Jared was a natural choice for bass. The next member to join was James DaSilva, whose father is an amazing classical guitar player from Brazil. James began playing classical guitar at the age of 6, which certainly adds the fire to his blistering solos. The final member is Rainu Ittycheriah. Rainu's family is originally from India, but has settled in Nashville, TN. She joined Faith In Shadows in November 2006 as the guys were working in the studio.
Their first CD “Shadows of My Mind”, featuring 11 tracks written by Jessie with his band mates adding their unique flavors, is now available on ITunes, CD Baby, MySpace, and faithinshadows.com. They merge strong vocals and guitar harmonies with elements of rap to create a multi-leveled listening experience.
