Lyrics

Kumbaya

Written By: Zuriani & Faith Rivera

Arise from my peaceful sleeping
Flip back my locks & my worrying
A thought of gratefulness is seeping
Encompassing my whole being

I will not confess I am any less - I’m a creator
Hey it’s up to me - I’m counting 1,2,3 & “Poof” it’s there

It goes something like this…

All that you think, say, & do
Shapes the world with your truth
(KUMBAYA, Thank You God)
Accept & bless all you’ve made my friend
Tomorrow you can choose again
(KUMBAYA, Thank You God, KUMBAYA)

I used to pray make real my dreamings
Fill my needs, fix my longing
My thoughts of lack shot out into space duplicating
My “not enoughness” into being

If you come from need then Need will be the seed of your story
If you come from faith then you can create with no fear - oh ours is the glory…forever

(chorus)

KUMBAYA, Thank You Allah, Thank Buddah, Thank You Krishna
KUMBAYA, Thank You Brother, Thank You Sister, Thank You Nature

If you come from need then need will be the seed of your story
If you come from faith then everything will be great - oh ours is the glory…forever

(chorus)

KUMBAYA, Thank You Allah, Thank Buddah, Thank You Krishna
KUMBAYA, Thank You Brother, Thank You Sister, Thank You Nature
KUMBAYA, Thank You Oprah, Thank You Mother, Thank You Dali Lama
KUMBAYA, Thank You Teacher, Holy Chakra, Thank You Papa
KUMBAYA, Thank You God, KUMBAYA

Peace Jam

Written By: Faith Rivera

If we wanna make a change
Be the change we seek
If we get this thing called Love
Turn the other cheek
Spin the world right upside down
Maybe then we’ll see
Another way to be

If we’re gonna have this dream
Wake to make it real
If we’re marchin’ for some peace
Let’s start at home with “me”
If we soothe the war inside
To bring some harmony
We’re the point where it begins

Shanti, Amani, Pace, Shalom
Damai, Kapayapaan, Salam, Runyaro
Shanti, Amani, Pace, Shalom
Damai, Kapayapaan, Salam, Runyaro
Oh, oh, oh (PEACE)

People say it’s judgement day – Yay!
Time for us to choose
We can “win” together now
Or separately we lose
Give in to the doubt & fear
Or show that heaven’s here
With every word we say
With every move we make
With every breath take

Shanti, Amani, Pace, Shalom
Damai, Kapayapaan, Salam, Runyaro
Shanti, Amani, Pace, Shalom
Damai, Kapayapaan, Salam, Runyaro
Oh, oh, oh (PEACE)

“What the bleep” hey got it right
With water & with life
What we get is what we think
So bask your mind with light
Focus on a super you
It sups the world up too
Join our peace-lovin’ fun
Till the work of peace is done
Cause Baby We Are One

Shanti, Amani, Pace, Shalom
Damai, Kapayapaan, Salam, Runyaro (PEACE)
Shanti, Amani, Pace, Shalom
Damai, Kapayapaan, Salam, Runyaro (PEACE)

Train for Nowhere

Written By: Faith Rivera / Ted Jacobs

“Hey lady what’s your destination?”
Asked a preacher guy with a Jesus tie
Got a gang of cholos right next to me
Oh I’m on this train for nowhere

“Hey misters could you spare a dollar?”
Asked a smelly man to a yuppie clan
Young mother daydreamin’ what life could be
Yeah we’re on this train for nowhere

But oh if I stop to look in your eyes
I see you as you are
Just another earth-bound angel
That’s good to go

“Hey people could you move on over?”
Asked a chubby girl to a skinny world
Immigrants, young lovers, old souls & me
Yeah we’re on this train for nowhere

(chorus)

People come & people go
When your stop comes nobody knows
But there’s one thing I know for sure…ooh
Here I spend my time, with you I share the ride
So try to have a good time ~ oh, oh, oh,…
Yeah we’re on this train for nowhere

But oh if I stop to look in your eyes
I see you as you are
Just another earth-bound angel
That’s good to go, that might not know

And oh if you stop to look in my eyes
You’ll see me as you are
Just another earth-bound angel
That’s good to go
Though we might know
That our wings unfold
Get in a happy flow…happy flow…happy flow

Here we spend our time, with you I share the ride, so maybe we can try to have the best time

Colors of Praise

Written By: Faith Rivera

COLORS OF PRAISE
Vibrant colors fill this place
See the warmth in every face
Look around at the rainbow of people who come to praise

Single mother dressed in red
Stands next to a World War Vet
And up in the front there are children ¡V brown, black & white

Oh the candle glows
And the Spirit flows
The Word¡¦s been brought to life

We come together today
Put every diff¡¦rence away
To share our COLORS OF PRAISE

We blend our voices with love
Reach out to the One God above
We shout with COLORS OF PRAISE

We each walk our different paths
Look to find a love that lasts
Here to paint a picture of gladness and joy in God

Some in t-shirts, some wear ties
Many who have changed their lives
From the streets we have come to make this place our very home
(Prechorus)
(Chorus)

Blue Green, White Gold
Pink Rose, Red Glow
Purpleness, Cool Black
Love lasts ¡V evermore
God Flows like a Rainbow
Our Hearts Know as the Joy Grows
And We All Show the Colors of¡Kthe Colors of Godliness
(Prechorus)
(Double Chorus)

Colors of Praise, Colors of Praise¡K

God flows like a rainbow, we all show the colors of Godliness (repeat)

Peace Today

Written By: Faith Rivera

Peace is the promise I make today
There’s nothing greater for me to say
Than to lay down my fears
Lay down unhappiness
And surrender to
The peace I choose today

Peace is the gift that I give today
No easy shortcut, Peace is the way
I will lay down my pride
Lay down self-righteousness
And surrender to
The peace I choose today

My all, I give
My love for all
My all, I give
My love for all

(Instrumental Verse)

Peace is the reason we’re here today
No accident, we’ve been by name
Called to lay down our lives
Stand up for greater good
And surrender to the peace we choose today

Peace, we choose - today
Peace, we bring - today
Peace, we live oh-today

Peace
Today

Vision

Written By: Faith Rivera

There are times in my life when I am stronger than I’ve ever been
There are times in my life when I believe I can do no wrong
There are moments when I, yes I can believe I am shining brighter

Sister stand up - believe in all that you can be
Brother remember Who You Are

Be Strong
Hold tight to that VISION
Cause no one can ever take it away from you

Be Strong
Live your life with passion
You gotto - keep on and hold tight to your VISION

There are mountains to climb, more songs to sing, and tears to be cried
There’ll be moments of loss, moments of winning, a lifetime of love
If I just keep in my mind, without any doubt that I AM flying higher

Sister get up - believe in all that you can be
Brother you gotto know Who You Are

Be Strong
Hold tight to that VISION
Cause no one can ever take it away from you

Be Strong
Live your life with passion
You gotto - keep on and hold tight to…your VISION

This is your moment to rise up
You know the sun’s coming out
Your new life’s starting now
Can’t keep you down ~ your spirit’s rising

Be Strong
Hold tight to that VISION
Cause no one can ever take it away from you

Be Strong
Live your life with passion
You gotto - keep on and hold tight to…surrender to…
The sun is shining through…
Hold tight to…your VISION

Beautiful

Written By: Faith Rivera & Karen Taylor Good

BEAUTIFUL

FAITH RIVERA
KAREN TAYLOR GOOD
When I woke up this mornin’
Had a smile slowly formin’
And I felt something different but strangely cool
Radio clock is alarmin’
Happy thoughts start a swarmin’
And I can’t hear the voices of gloom and doom

I am feelin’ mighty intoxicated
Naturally high as these visions dance in my head
The ugly girl that I thought I was
That’s not who I am
No it’s never been

Now I can love myself
Lookin’ at the sweet face in the mirror
Now I can love myself
And the truth of me is getting clearer
That I have always been and will always be beautiful

Then I skipped out the doorway
And I’m greeting this new day / Even work will be all play
Every breath that I’m takin says life is good
Oh the sun’s beaming brighter
And my heart’s beating lighter
And I love more that I ever thought I could

I am feelin’ mighty intoxicated
Naturally high as these visions dance in my head
The lovely girl with her head held high
She is who I am
Here I proudly stand

(chorus)
(chorus)

Sweet face in the mirror
Truth is getting clearer
