Bio

Forged together from the ashes of a smoldering musical bonfire, Fake Camping was the last boat back to the island of musical bonding for three friends. Formed just as easily as it could have fallen apart, guitarist Brandon Douglas and drummer/keyboardist Chris Wheeler were on their third strike of a band line-up when estranged music and technical phenom, Cole Cunningham rode in from the sunset of Phoenix, AZ to return to his home state of Oklahoma to breathe new life into the project.

Like a fine bowl of chili, the chef cannot claim all of the credit, he must recognize his ingredients. Such as true with Fake Camping's recipe for it's abstract, unique and creative songwriting. (almost) Never before have space rock, jam band, classic rock, alternative, eighties and just plain crazy rock come together in such an emotionally stimulating sonic breeze, flowing into your forehead.

Notable influences of which you might catch a glimpse of while fun-bathing in Fake Camping's music include Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Mogwai, The Flaming Lips, Interpol, Modest Mouse, The Who and Tom Petty.

If you were riding in a car with Fake Camping behind the wheel, you, like many other passengers, would be asking "Where's this train a-rollin' to?" First stop: politely invite ourselves into the Tulsa night scene that erupts in hot spots like The Brady District, Downtown, Cain's Blvd., Brookside and Cherry Street. The common desire of the three members of Fake Camping is simply "to enjoy sharing their music with those who share enjoying it." This band just loves to play.

With D-Fest rapidly approaching this summer, the band enthusiastically looks forward to pounding the Tulsa pavement and finding eager, experimental and welcoming minds and bar stages to perform. In fact, D-Fest has been the ultimate goal for this group since its inception.
