Since the release of our first EP, we’ve noticed an important evolution in our music. At that time, we wanted to do everything ourselves: performing, recording and producing. But it seems that’s not the way it works. By winning a contest, we received one day in the recording studio of Dirk Miers. And then it became clear to us: let the technician and producer do their jobs. We bought a second day in that studio with the money we earned from the first EP.

The most important experience of the last year is the realisation that we have to plan our career in the long time. With a more adult sound, we’re entering the phase of playing in every place in Flanders, from busking to the club stages like the Trix in Antwerp. Filip spend more than an hour per day contacting all those venues. And believe us, we like good PA’s and places with more than 100 attendees. We are ready for the next level. - CHUM

‘Fake The Effort’ is één van de bands die we volgen. Ik had ze nog niet live gezien en die eerste keer werd een positieve verrassing. De zanger heeft een natuurlijk charisma en communiceert op een open manier met het publiek. Het meest opvallende was de consistentie van de sound. De bassist neemt een behoorlijk gedeelte op zich met niet alleen een dragende baslijn maar erboven op smaakvolle extraatjes. Heerlijk om die kerel te zien spelen.
Dat ze beïnvloed zijn door oa. The Hives steken ze niet onder stoelen of banken. We hadden een kort interview met de bandleden en zullen dit afzonderlijk publiceren. - whtvr.be
