"Back in the saddle again"

"After spending months searching for the right musicians and perfecting the lineup, the members of Fallen Under have made a comeback.

The four-piece band played Saturday at The Canal Club with Chaos Theory, Bullistic and Separation. Fallen Under opened the show, amping up the crowd with its high-energy performance.

Although the band said it is still in a process of fine-tuning aspects of the music - from chunky guitars to bright plucks on the bass - complimented each other well. Heavy, heart pounding riffs ushered in melodic swirles of sound. Soft, charming vocals enhanced the window-bursting screams.

With prominent riffs, the band is guitar-centric, members said. Dowdy and Baumann said they combine their guitar knowledge to write the foundation of the band's music.

Baumann, who appreciates the vocal styling of Corey Taylor from Slipknot and Maynard James keenan from Tool/A Perfect Circle, said that when the band members sit down to write songs, they look to the past and the future for inspiration.

"We're not a throw-back band by any means," he said, "but we pay tribute to the way metal came about, which was original rock 'n' roll.

"We don't want to be a straight metal band. We don't want to be all about just screaming and being heavy and being loud."

The band will continue to stay busy during the upcoming months while playing gigs around town and in out-of-state venues. Between gigs, Fallen Under plans to visit the recording studio to finish its CD. - Richmond Times Dispatch

"Fallen Under"

"Fallen Under is a band that reminds us of just how good hard rock really can be. Simply put- amazing late-90's nu-metal and hard rock mixed with modern-day ass kicking."
- Blake Corino - Owner of Core Promotions

"Fallen Under is worth writing home about."

If guitar driven rock and crowds full of vivacous girls is only a nostalgic memory from the 80's, you have obviously not seen Fallen Under yet. As a matter of fact, gorgeous women, electrifying guitar, dazzling percussion and gripping vocals without question are some of the highlights of a Fallen Under show. Frontman Erik Baumann's seething screams are a breath of fresh air when compared to the generic moans of todays hard rock vocalists. While drummer Jason Truda and bassist Justin "Boz" Boswell get the crowd pumped with pounding rythm, guitarist Peyton Dowdy gets the girls screaming with his boyish looks and the guys screaming with his ripping guitar riffs.
Bottom line: Fallen Under is worth writing home about. - Andrew Saunders Owner of Thoat Punch Records
