"Stuff The Stocking Festival"

Falling Short perform riff-driven punchy pop-rock and display a high level of energy for a Sunday afternoon, not afraid of the occasional co-ordinated acrobatic moves. As much as I’d like to take shots at them, it actually looks kinda cool.

"Billboards"

A solid offering here. The band are all very good on their instruments and are able to produce a dark kind of depth to their sound the edge over other bands of this genre.

Bio

Four lads from Brisbane Australia make up this rock/pop outfit. In the last year the boys have supported American rockers Switchfoot, MxPx and Antiskeptic and receive regular community radio play (96.5Fm, 100.3BayFM, 101.1FM, RocketRadioAM etc), including international rotation in Paris and New York. Their new single 'Supernova' goes to radio mid 2008. Their current single ‘Billboards’ has held the coveted number one position on the Triple J Unearthed National Charts for four weeks in late 2007.

Recently the band won the Gilhooley’s Band Battle and were finalists in both the Jack Daniel’s Band Battle and the Live and Unsigned competition. Early 2008 saw the band feature on both Scout TV (seen in NSW only) and Access All Areas TV, as seen in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

They have made appearances at major music festivals, completed multiple interstate tours, been included on three compilation CD’s, were finalists in the Music Oz Awards and produced two independent records that have well and truly exceeded sales expectations (sold over 1000 copies in 12 months). Early 2008 saw Falling Short sign a non-exclusive three (3) song publishing contract and shoot their first yet to be released film clip.

Extensive live experience (over 200 shows in 18 months) has enabled Falling Short to develop their live shows into something special that has been leaving people demanding more everywhere they go. The band have returned to the studio with producer Stuart Stuart (The Veronicas, Small Mercies) to piece together the much anticipated follow up of their last single 'Billboards'.

In the next couple of months Falling Short will launch their new EP ‘Aperture’, support the Spazzy’s, make an appearance at the Rapid Festival, play a Sydney showcase and head to the USA for further recordings.
