Bio

Fall of Idols is a metal quintet from San Antonio, TX. They formed in early 2009 and after a few member changes, solidified their line-up in Sept of ’09 with Nick Cardenas on bass and lead vocals, Bob Romo and George Gutierrez on guitar, and Felix Carrizales rounding out the group on drums. The band and Cardenas would part ways in 2011, leaving the vocal and bass position open. The band recruited Aaron Gonzalez on bass, with Bob and George now sharing vocal duties.

Their goal is simple: To introduce a new level of heavy music, not seen or heard of, to the San Antonio music scene. No egos. No gimmicks. No fashion trends. They choose to let the music and high energy shows speak for themselves. Fall of Idols do not stick to one particular sound. All of the band members’ influences create the unique sound that is Fall of Idols, which may start off with dual melodic harmonizing guitar leads and quickly shifting to a thrash riff. Rhythm, tempo, and time signature changes are common in their writing process. “Our goal from the beginning was to buck the stereotype of what a “metal” band is,” says Gutierrez. “We just want to incorporate all different elements of music, structure it to where it sounds interesting and catchy, yet also brutal and in your face.”

Buzz about Fall of Idols is certainly building up through good old fashioned face-to-face networking in addition to social networking. They will be reaching new heights by releasing a self-produced EP, recorded by Clifton Miles at Dead Room Recordings in San Antonio, TX. Fall of Idols have immense love for its fans. “The fans mean a lot to us. Without them, we’re nothing. We don’t have egos, so you won’t see any facades on our end. We’re humble and approachable dudes who just like to have a good time and play some metal. We invite our fans to come have a beer and talk to us. We like to hear feedback from them” says the band.

The group is expecting for its fan base to grow and thrive now that their music has been released. “We’re always telling people to look out for our stuff. People are anxious: friends, family, and complete strangers” says Romo and Gutierrez. "People just want to hear good heavy music again and not something that was created by the mainstream but by regular people who work hard and share the same passion to make music. We’re going to make our mark on the world." Carrizales adds, “A lot of people were looking for us to fail, to fall apart before we get started. Our demo release show proved those people wrong. There is no reason for us not to make it. We’re going to do it.” Be sure to catch a show while you still can, because these boys from San Antonio won’t stay local for long.
