False Church, hailing from Washington DC, was first conceived of during a drug and sin fueled bender at Muddy Roots festival. Three best friends, Dustin Foley, Jay Ryason, and Will Armstrong, decided to put together a firebrand hardcore crossover band with a mission to awaken the masses with a sonic protest against cultish Christianity, swindling televangelists, racial injustice and government oppression. By blending pummeling power violence rhythms with breakneck guitar riffs often found in death, thrash, and black metal with a hardcore mentality and vocal delivery - the band has created their own blistering auditory mutation of extreme metal and punk.
After recording their freshman EP “Prosperity Gospel”, which was recorded and mixed by Aaron Mason of Virginia Creep, mastered by Pig Destroyer’s Scott Hull, and released in 2020, the band recruited frontman Tommy Crocker to complete the band’s lineup.
False Church is now set to release a quickly recorded split EP titled “Heretics and Hangmen”, which was mixed and mastered by Toxic Holocaust’s Joel Grind with a B-side featuring Gutterbilly scumfucks, The Goddamn Gallows. The split is set to have a tentative Summer 2021 release date.
