"False-Heads Review"

A new sensation
Once again a fantastic new band has arisen from the heart of England. A lovely little place we like to call London. This fresh face is three piece band False Heads. Once again I am impressed of the skill of those bands who have as yet made it into the public light and exist instead in a growing sensation on the inernet

To call False-Heads a mere alternative rock band is a severe understatement. They possess an interesting feel to it that is without question. Whether it be the melodic tunes of the guitar, the deep rooted essence of the bass or the underlying beat of the drums, they are without a doubt an impressive musical entity.

Naturally a band such as this are nothing without a good vocal track and well thought out tracks. Luckily they possess both with a great degree of skill. Each new track has its own feel to it and is supported by the harmonious vocals of the lead singer. This is a band that we can expect a great deal from.

So once again we arrive at that point in time where I try to convince you with the necessity of checking them out for yourselves with varying degrees of success. All I can say is that any music should be given a chance. Every new band should be granted the opportunity to test their music for you listening pleasure. - Big in the Game

"False – Heads Singles Review"

Three piece Essex band False – Heads have released two brand new tracks from forthcoming re written EP ‘Animation Drawing Needles’. ‘Without a Doubt’ is the first of the two songs, it’s a very low fi recording that kicks off with a dirty bass riff that I would happily nod along to all day. Its very surf rock and the vocals are reminiscent of early Horror’s. The next song ‘Where is Your Man’ works amazingly well, the singing at times does though lack enthusiasm but it suits the instruments perfectly and is what garage rock is all about. They seem to know what direction they want to go in and have mastered the art of creating fun, catchy, put a smile on your face music. I can’t wait to hear what False – Heads bring out next more of the same please!

4/5 - Beat Review

"False-Heads Without A Doubt/Where Is Your Man?"

Taken from their Animation Draining Needles EP, False-Heads appear to have stumbled across a juxtaposed Nirvana/extremely early Blur slacker lo-fi hybrid… which I quite like.
Like their Essex counterparts False-Heads steady and catchy hooks are effortlessly delivered with an almost dreamy shrug of the shoulders. However, with just the right amount of ‘Nirvana-esque’ power, it makes for an unlikely mix.
Despite receiving ten out of ten’s across blog land and certainly at odds with their couldn’t care less sound, ever the perfectionsists, False-Heads are currently re-recording their debut EP… but you can listen to the first attempt here.
***Edit***
Contrary to the band’s press release False-Heads are in fact not re-recording their debut EP, but are actually working on a brand spanking new one… which is brilliant. - This is a Popscene

"False-Heads - Without a Doubt/Where is Your Man"

False-Heads shed some lo-fi light on 2012 with this single from their album Animation Draining Needles. Where is your man? is the musical equivalent of an elegant kick in the guts: a Sonic Youth-reminiscent song on friction and feigned indifference achieved with the gritty simplicity of raw guitars and a bass line of epic proportions. False-Heads’ hooks are unmasked and unadulterated, allowing the band’s confidence to shine through. Without a Doubt is again an amazing expression of lo-fi love, a Babies-era Pulp-like riff meets The Ramones-meets-Television Personalities moment which proves intimate and confrontational at the same time.

These two songs alone show a band with solid musical references and yet incredibly original, with their refreshingly unaffected attitude and a will to shake things up in their musical cosmos of reference. - AAA Music

Bio

The name False-Heads had been around since 2010 and there were some early demos but to be honest it was sloppy, under rehearsed and just noise. However our first EP 'Animation Draining Needles' was recorded just before I (Luke) went to uni in 2011 and was worked hard on. I planned to just make another band when I met Jack and Jake, but we couldn't be bothered to find another name. Singles such as 'Where is Your Man' and 'Without a Doubt' had positive reviews as well as making New to Q Radio's 'Single of the Week' and getting plays on BBC stations and many other student and internet radios. We gigged in the summer and recorded some rough demos to get ready for our second EP 'Tunnel Vision' which will be released in April/May of 2013.
