Family Highs is a rap duo comprised of myself-T.Rubble (pronounced Trouble), and my brother-Chunk. Born and raised in Southern Maryland, just outside of Washington, DC. We were heavily influenced by the '90s New York hip hop era. BIG, Nas, Jay, Big L, Cormega, AZ, CNN, Mobb Deep, Busta, LOX....along with Eminem, Snoop, Outkast, etc.
What sets us apart? Our rhyme styles.....in an era when hip hop has become less and less lyrical, Family Highs is a refreshing reminder of what hip hop used to be. Simple but grimy boom-bap type beats, laced with REAL, almost flawless, beat-riding wordplay. We live what we rap, and rap what we live. No gimmicks or flashy dances....no fake bentely-drivin', ice-rockin, champagne-poppin, drug-dealing phonies. Pure hip hop.
