"I AM Fancy"

Who is Fancy?

First known as simply “Sarah” during her younger days as a singer, in 2009 during a studio session, Fancy and 2 other artists collaborated on what would become one of Fancy’s biggest singles. The track was entitled “Fancy”. The tracks most catchiest phrase “You know why? … Because I’m Fancy” was instantly assigned to the singer as her artist name. Fancy has a feisty sultry side and a hopeless romantic side as well. She’s mysterious and bad ass!

Tell us about this set of words taken from your bio, I AM…. Beautiful…. Bad…. Unforgettable…. Letting Go?

These words are song titles from Fancy’s most recent album “I AM”. The second album to come from the singer was meant to be very personal for her. She wanted listeners to know her vulnerable, sexy, feisty and empowered side. The album’s creative significance for each track describes a simple word or phrase about Fancy, and when including the albums title they would read

“I AM – Beautiful”

“I AM – Bad”

“I AM – Unforgettable”

“I AM – Letting go”

Fancy went on to create her own custom “bands” or as they are called “Fancy Bands” which include the track tiltes above.

Is there anything that you would like to change about the music industry today, if so what and why?

It’s not so much what I want to change but what I want to offer. The industry is always changing. It’s not as big as most think of it to be. There’s always a new trend, style something crazy is always going on. But that’s what keeps me motivated. I have my own unique style. I’ not a powerhouse singer, but I sing my heart out. I’m a party girl so I make music to dance too. I’m emotional so I make music people can relate to. I’m a sexual creature so I like to sing about that too. I’m not your typical lollipop artist or the slow R&B artist. I rap, I sing, I just make Fancy ass music to say the least. I have a lot to offer that makes no comparisons to people I love, but I’m still nothing like such as Rihanna or Cassie which I’m often compared to by my peers and fans. I’m my own genre “Fancy Music” lol…

What can we expect from Fancy in the future, and how can our ENDEE readers stay in touch?

I am constantly working in my home studio. My mind is on creative autopilot all day long. I find myself singing lyric ideas or melodies in to my phone’s voice recorder often. I am in the works of releasing my first mixtape “Born Bad” and re-releasing “I AM” this summer adding 3 more songs. I’ve been given opportunities to travel to Ohio, Atlanta, Iowa and LA for upcoming shows that fans and supporters can get more info on by visiting my website. My newest video “Runaway” will be released in July however the sneak peak of the video here:

For more videos Fans can go to my Vevo page! I’ve been blessed with the gift of music and I have a ton of people continuing to inspire me to make more, so that’s what I’ll continue to do.

Bio

Minnesota's own R&B and Pop Princess is one of the hottest artists to come from the Midwest to date. Most known for her Major hit "Fancy" that originally aired on VH1's Basketball Wives in Early 2010 and later again in 2012 on ABC's Don't trust the B in Apt 23, earned Fancy radio play across the US and in Europe. The Song was placed on a compilation album titled "He Say She Say" with Press Play label mate Envy. With the achievement in earning thousands of Views on YouTube and even more in downloads it was apparent that Fancy was and is the next best thing to the music game.

Growing up on Minneapolis' south side Fancy, even at a young age expressed complete dedication to music in more ways than just her singing. Playing the clarinet, piano and trumpet as a kid only sparked her interest more and enhanced her musical abilities. Through High school she entered in to talent shows and attended drama classes with hopes of moving one day to LA to live the Hollywood dream, until she found herself to be more of a troubled teen, lost under peer pressure and eventually pregnant at the tender age of 17.

After years of pushing her love of music away, Fancy, more determined than ever left her past behind and decided it was time to dream again. With the efforts of her family and a supportive musical team backing her Fancy re-entered the music scene. Fancy's dynamic sound, displays a multitude of talent. From R&B, Pop and even Hip Hop... Fancy does it all!

With a resume that only compliments her musical accomplishments, in 2011 Fancy debuted the first single "Bi Polar" from her much anticipated album self titled "Fancy. Bi Polar received thousands of radio spins across the nation which helped to successfully lead to the release of “Fancy" the solo self-titled Album which dropped on November 11, 2011 (11/11/11). The 11 track album features hits like "Kiss On The Mirror" ft. J-Stylz of the Grammy award winning group Blackstreet. And "Stick Up" ft. Billboard hit man Envy.

In 2012 Fancy went deeper and on 11/23/12 she released the single 'Beautiful' from her second studio album "I AM". The focus of this album is a play on words, as each track is a personal self description of Fancy herself. Released on 12/12/12 "I AM" The deluxe EP debuted with a 5 track listing
I AM.... Beautiful.... Bad.... Unforgettable.... Letting Go.

2013 will be no different as Fancy prepares for her release of "Curls, Pearls and Lollipops on 11/12/13
