FANFARE KA discovers new land: The musical tradition of the carneval of the french west Indies is combined with the north american creole Jazz in a symbiotic way - on equal terms.
By using the Ka drums instead of an "ordinary" drum set, the colour of this music possesses a unique touch of the historical heritage of Guadeloupe. Even if the Band plays a beautiful Béguine (a rythm of the former upper-class ballrooms) like p. e. "fleur d'ibiscus", the strong sound and beat by the Ka drums drives the music out of the ballroom directly into the streets where an exhausting carneval party takes place. The original compositions by Franck NICOLAS are reflecting the joy of life of Guadeloupe, played by some of the best musicians of this region.
Franck NICOLAS has developed the musical concept JAZZ KA, which binds the musical heritage of the West Indies, the Gro Ka, with north american Jazz. The concept JAZZ KA gathers the people by the interbreeding, the contribution of sonorities and the instruments coming from Africa, Europe and the Carribbean. This new music is authentic, original and a message of peace and fraternity. With his music, Franck brings an optimistic musical vision to the mankind of the third millenium.
