Fanny Grace

California bred lead singer Carmen Mejia has powerful, penetrating pipes. Her performance on this title
track blew me away. Her partner is Irish guitarist/songwriter Paul Reeves, whose amazing lyric is matched
only by his perfect melody. Producer Cash brought one of his father’s songs, “My Cowboy’s Last Ride”, to
the project, as well as the Carter Family standard, “The Storms Are on the Ocean”. But Reeves tunes like
“Time” and “Never is a Good Time” are just about as classic. For an introduction to one of the greatest new
female voices of the year get this record.
