Bio

Born and raised in Kingston, Jamiaca, Farenheit has been performing and recording reggae, soul, r & b, jazz and more around the world for over a decade. His unique blend of styles has been termed Jamaican Soul, and as the premier artiste in the genre he's caught the attention of many. He can currently be seen on stage and in videos with dancehall superstar Sean Paul, as his back up singer and hype man. Traveling around the world on gigs with Sean has gotten him tons of exposure and has helped him to develop a vast network of musicians and producers to record with. Each time he has recorded something, he has expanded his repetoir and added new styles to his genre-bending creations. His forthcoming album, due out summer of 2006 on Jamaian indy label Mystic Urchin Music (WWW.MYSITCURCHIN.US), is "Port Antonio Virgin", a follow up to the 1999 release "Fringe to Fore", a self-produced, avant-guarde project which landed him on the cover of music industry Bible Billboard Magazine. Billboard saluted him for his innovative blending of musical genres, edgy yet soulful stylings, and infectious bedroom melodies. "Port Antonio Virgin" is named after the Jamaican beach town where he began his ventures into the realm of singing, recording, and producing at GeeJam studios (WWW.GEEJAM.COM)- the same "studio-in-pradise" where No Doubt and the Gorillaz recorded some of their biggest tunes. Along with singing, recording and producing, Farenheit is an avid actor, gracing numerous stages and TV programs over the last 5 years. In 2002 he lent his vocal and writing talent to the multi-ethnic production "Adelante" (Forward Recordings), which also featured fellow Jamaican artiste Ky-Mani Marley. The movie was released in France to great commercial and critical success. Shortly after that he debuted in theatre as lead singer in an HIV awareness musical staged in South Africa, then followed up in Jamaican plays Against His Will and Dirty Diana, which took him around the world as well. Soon after, he paired with Paul Campbell (The Lunatic, Dancehall Queen, Shottas) and co-starred in Redemption, then followed up with the "Goathead". He is perhaps most widely known in Jamaica for his recurring character on the hit Jamaican television series Royal Palm Estate. Farenheit currently appears on the album Negril to Kingston City, produced by Transdub Massiv (MT FLOYD, DJ FFLOOD, and URCHIN STEVE) (WWW.TRANSDUBMASSIV.COM). The album is a modern dub adventure featuring Michelle NDegleocelo, Tami Chynn, Cecile, Sizzla, and more! Availible now in France, Australia, and England. Also due out this year is the Negril To Kingston City REMIX produced by Los Angeles-based producer Josh One WWW.JOSHONE.NET). The avant-guarde, dance remix features himself alongside female Jamaican vocalist Jovi Rockwell. Farenheit's current track Empersario was recently selected from a pool of thousands to appeared on CD Sampler 11 by the automotive company Scion, a leading supporter of underground and independant music.
