Born in October 2003, Farewell Radiance was built on the premise of doing whatever we want with our sound. We like to think that with every song we write, we are doing something different than the one we wrote before it. Admittedly though, we are a metal band at heart, so channeling the flames of Hades will always be a part of the agenda.
Everyone in Farewell Radiance has known each other for many years prior to forming this band, and the bonds that hold us together make the music we write that much more personal. Our goal is for listeners to be consumed by the same passion that we have for our music; a sound we feel is defined by its juxtaposition of brutality & beauty, raw emotion, and sheer honesty.
Hailing from Springfield, MA we have taken advantage of the opportunity to play extensively across New England, reaching out through CT, ME, VT, NH & NY. So far we have been fortunate enough to share the stage with some bands we personally enjoy like Scars of Tomorrow, Fear Before the March of Flames, Byzantine, Seemless as well as all of the incredible bands that inhabit the New England metal scene with us.
In May of 2005, we released our first full-length album; a 10 song CD entitled "Hold On To Your Ghost". The album was recorded and engineered in mid 2004 by Will Beale at Sleepless Sound in Rockville, CT. With an ambitious schedule of live shows in and around our regional area already mapped out, we are now prepared to bring our music to anyone with a fire burning in their heart.
