"Six Feet From Silence CD Review"

Swirling, twirling modern day melodic American hard rock laced with attitude and crunchy guitar. SIX FEET FROM SILENCE, the new CD by Far From Nowhere, is a top-notch production filled with great punch in the teeth tunes and sprinkled with "heart" where needed. This CD grows on me more and more with every listen. Singer/Songwriter Shawn Mitchell shows off his true talents on songs like "Pale Blue Eyes", "Blink of the Eye", "Nameless", and the ounky "Another Addiction". Bass player Wick and pretty girl drummer Sarah Sydow shine through on every track. Lead guitarist Don Cappo lays down the perfect riff on every track never missing a note. Worthy rockers "When God Blinks" and "Gone Tomorrow"CD in great fashion. This CD is a must for anybody who wants to rock. I give it 4 and half pickles out of 5. - Rikki Rampage

Bio

Founded by a common love for music and driven by a pure desire to succeed Far From Nowhere's goal is simple, to see just how far they can take it. Comprised of Shawn Mitchell (vocals and guitar), Sarah Sydow (drums), Wick (bass), and Brad Newman (guitar), Far From Nowhere has committed themselves to their career together while being completely independent has truly honed the members hardcore work ethic. Far From Nowhere has brought their energetic live show to as many new places and people as possible. During their time together, they have played over 800 performances in three different countries and have shared the stage with bands such as Puddle of Mudd, Breaking Benjamin, Smile Empty Soul, Seven Mary Three, Theory Of A Deadman, Our Lady Peace, and L.A. Guns. They have also shown their support for the men and women of the United States military over three tours in South Korea courtesy of the Army MWR (Morale, Welfare, and Recreation) program.

Having released an EP, two full length CDs, and a DVD with combined sales of over 5000 units, Far From Nowhere is proving that a completely independent band can still make a name for themselves. The second CD, Six Feet From Silence, was released in January 2005. It reflects on the growth and experiences the band has gone through in the two years since their 2003 release Pull The Scars. Recorded by Greg Scott at Matrix Studio in Sneads Ferry, NC, the album contains 10 tracks of a slightly-more mainstream type of rock with a more introspective feel than the more adrenaline driven Pull The Scars. With the self-produced Six Feet From Silence the band was able to achieve a more mainstream feel while not compromising their creativity or vision. They touch on everything from the in-your-face hard rock tracks like "Blink of the Eye" and "Gone Tomorrow" to the softer melodic track "Small Amounts" with its stunning violin solo closing the album. Their DVD Scrapbook (an uncensored look at a rock band on and off stage) is just that. The DVD chronicles everything from the band's live performances to the making of both albums and their first music video to candid footage taken while on tour in South Korea.

With a "never say die" attitude, Far From Nowhere has constant urge to strive for success. Having grown up in the same area in North Carolina, they draw their inspiration not only from their personal lives but from the world they experience around themselves each day which only pushes them to work harder to achieve their goals. They have landed sponsorship deals with Jagermeister, Dirtbag Clothing, and Royal Blunts and are endorsed by Protection Racket and In Tune Guitar Picks. Their insatiable drive will keep them working hard and pushing further no matter how far they climb.
