"F (...as in Frank) "F This EP" Review"

FaiF's refreshing originality, purveyed via their
mighty thrashy funk metal - a heavy, clowny, angry
knuckle sandwich - is a breath of cool, crisp air. I
love how many times the indie scene pays off. Where
else could you find such originality? The closest
comparison I can make is to the work of Mike Patton,
whose seriously zany and highly experimental work with
such bands as Faith No More and Mr. Bungle has
brought him surprsing success. One can hope the same
thing happens with this band. Moving deftly between
funkishness and broad, chuncky midtempo thrash
riffage, F (... as in Frank) is an original and
startling act. I even detected tinges of ska at one
point and on another track the band sounded remarkably
like Ongo, a Spanish-speaking (mostly) prog band. Wow.

"F (...as in Frank)"

“An alternative metal band that has managed to do what few bands can or probably will be able to do…create their very own, unique and out of this world sound. Any band can scream and rant unintelligibly and try to pass it off as “power.” This band does none of that but reaches down somewhere for a power that hasn’t been seen in any other bands of late.” - Twisted Dreams Magazine - 2006

Bio

Founding members Kurt Woodcock, Ed Miller, and Sal Pirozzi, coupled with the reuniting of bass player Bob Beveridge and the introduction of versatile front man Nathaniel Biro, combine to form a band one can’t deny. Its planet Earths newest emerging band, F (…as in Frank). “An alternative metal band that has managed to do what few bands can or probably will be able to do…create their very own, unique and out of this world sound. F (...as in Frank) has gotten off to a quick start. Utilizing their years of experience, F has already put together a 4 song EP appropriately titled F ... this EP which features www.garageband.com Alternative Metal’s contest #2 track (House of Mirrors) and the rapidly climbing #7 track (M.O.B.) “People are really digging those songs. It feels great to have people that we don’t even know review our material and have them write back to us how much they love it” states Biro. The EP consists of 4 original, and I mean original, tunes that exceed listener expectations. “We call it Mutt Metal.” says Woodcock, and that’s exactly what it is, a unique blend of anything and everything that has inspired metal lovers since the dawn of metals time. "We're so proud to be able to deliver something so unique and so listenable, yet still heavy and brutal at the same time." says Pirozzi. "And we look forward to expanding ourselves even more. Pushing new boundaries, experimenting with new sounds, and keeping our fans wondering what we're going to come up with next."
