Fast Break is a hip hop duo who draw from a mixture of hip hop, rap and pop while also being influenced by folk, punk and alternative music. Growing up in Pella, IA, we weren't exposed to rap and hip hop until after our music taste had developed. So, we grew up on a completely unique blend of music that we now go back to for a unique spin on traditional hip hop music. Our upbringing and, well, white-ness make us something different in a rap game that is increasingly predictable. When we saw preppy kids bumping Waka Flocka, we knew we could give them something better - something they could actually relate to. And we've done just that by sticking to our principles and not regressing into typical 'pride rap' about things we don't own and things we don't do. Fast Break is all about relaxing and having fun, but doing it our way. That's What's Up!
