Bio
Fast Johnny Ricker is a blazing blues-rock guitarist and slide master. Johnny leads a melt-down power trio, which includes his son, Davis, on bass and vocals, and drummer Gary Miller. Johnny's incendiary guitar style and original song writing have been described as a high voltage combination of psychedelic rock with Texas and Delta blues traditions.
Johnny has shared the bill or performed with The Fabulous Thunderbirds w/ Jimmie Vaughn, Johnny Winter, Double Trouble, Junior Brown, Sonny Landreth, Leon Russell, Nick Lowe, Charlie Musselwhite, George Thorogood, Commander Cody, Bo Diddley and many others. He has played festivals on the same bill with Bob Dylan, Joe Walsh, Albert King, Jonny Lang, Luther Allison, Etta James and The Red Devils. The band has performed throughout the Midwest from Chicago to Texas to Nashville.
Johnny's latest release, 'Arise & Dig', sounds distinctly Fast Johnny at the wheel of a fuel injected guitar with colliding pieces of Cream, Hendrix, Mountain, Texas Blues, etc., all crashing together for a dynamic live performance!
Besides his own band, one of Johnny's latest projects was a sellout show with "The Tommy Bolin Reunion Band".
The band featured original members from the late Tommy Bolin's band 'Energy' and included
Tommy Stephenson - keyboards (Tommy Bolin, Joe Walsh, Eric Clapton, The Eagles, The Band).
Bobby Berge - drums (Tommy Bolin, Buddy Miles).
Johnnie Bolin, Tommy's brother, also joined in on drums and guitar.
Tommy Bolin's guitar parts were shared by Jeff Scheetz and Fast Johnny.
