Fate Magazine was established in 2006 in the Czech Republic, by a group of musicians with a strong desire to break down European musical barriers and also to establish themselves outside of their mother country. Once formed, the band rapidly decided to professionally record their music in a studio called the House of Audio near Stuttgart in Germany. The self-produced recording process took a week and yielded 3 songs and everyone felt pleased with the end results. These songs were sent out to various publishing companies and producers both in The Czech Republic and further afield and the band started to gain a growing fan base through the wonders of the internet. The music business began to sit up and take notice of the band and soon enough, they were receiving interest from a producer in Seattle (USA), who previously worked with bands such as Nirvana, The Foo Fighters and Evermoore. They were contacted by a producer from London that had worked with Gorillaz and also a producer from Hannover (Germany), who produced bands like Guano Apes and Donots. Meetings were set up with all these producers and in 2006 after much deliberation; a decision was made to start working with a German-Italian producer called Fabio Trentini. Like any other struggling band they came across that familliar obstacle: Where to get the finances from? After several empty promises, they decided to once again, finance the project themselves. This however, was money well spent as Fabio’s approach and ideas pushed the group further and further. The partnership worked on 5 songs and the songs were polished to perfection in the studio over a period of 3 weeks, although with pre-production, the whole process lasted 3 months. Thanks to Fabio – the guys soon learnt how invaluable a producer is in the making of a finished product that you can be proud of. In November 2006, Fate Magazine flew to London where top Czech photographer - Ondrej Pycha, took some promotional pictures of the band with stunning results and in December 2006, the band got the best Christmas present they could wish for in the form of a completed EP. Fate Magazine will be connected with many people’s destiny and it may even influence yours.
