"For all the progressive rock/metal"

For all the progressive rock/metal listeners this is your cup of tea. Personally, when listening to progressive music whether it be rock or metal I like to hear two things. One being good songwriting/ good riffing, etc. The second, are good Vocals. Fate's Cruel Joke produce great song structures and have a very clear production which is always a plus on a demo. The music sounds like an mixbetween Queensryche's Promised Land (which I like alot) without the high pitchedvocals and a little like Dream Theater. Fate's Cruel Joke got and kept my attention throughout the whole listen. Prog listeners check them out.

Bio

Making their home in Southern New England, Fate’s Cruel Joke has achieved a reputation for being an uncompromising powerhouse of musical versatility. Fusing various schools of rock and metal together while capitalizing on harmonic liberties often associated with jazz or fusion, Fate’s Cruel Joke is able to forge a sound that is simultaneously cohesive and unique. The foundations for elusive melodies are created by basslines as solid as concrete. Thunderous drums provide a feverish, percussive assault on one’s senses. Tastefully placed keyboard work flavors even the most aggressive of songs with a trance-like ambience over which brutal and oftentimes acrobatic guitar work is able to flourish. Their forthcoming CD is sure to satisfy the most critical of listeners by providing them with tangible melodies, intriguing rhythms, and atmospheres reminiscent of alternate realities.
