With influences ranging from Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Deftones to composers such as Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Ravel, Fathom has created a unique sound that has tantalized and entertained audiences over the past two years. Fathom takes their listeners on a musical journey, moving from ethereal, dark, and brooding in songs like Seizure, to the light of self realization in songs like Formidable. Alex's stage persona keeps the audience enthralled as he accents his amazing vocal range with his bass. Brian's guitar sinks straight into his listener's minds, gently yet forcibly putting them into the appropriate mood for each song. Chris' intense drumming, sometimes compared to ancient Celtic tribal drums, are hypnotic and powerful - a force to be reckoned with.
Fathom has competed in the Emergenza International Battle of the Bands, as well as written and recorded music for the short film "Burden," and have been recognized on Garageband.com as "Track of the Day" for "Thoughtless Move" on July 7, 2006 and "Seizure" on July 8, 2006. Currently, Fathom is quaterfinalists in the 2006 Zippo Hout Tour and are in the studio recording their debut album, “Descending Order” with a tentative release late fall 2006.
